I'm pretty sure he'll do more dates. Might not be W2A but he loves to preform so I'm sure he'll be touring this year. wink

Hmmm... maybe Prince isn't a long term planner? Or maybe he saw something shiny that distracted him?

This is part of the frustration of being a Prince fan. There are so many projects that just fade away. I am still waiting for the 7 CD set of Prince music samples to come out! lol

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Somebody needs to tell Prince a big big secret:

1. Money making tours have tickets on sale several months in advance

2. Said tours usually have some type of strange ritual performed

yeahthat 3. (Oh Yeah, that strange ritual is called pro mo tion)

4. It helps to have some sort of album out, not including ones you have to buy on ebay from somebody from another country, and hope to get it someday.

5. If tour happens, have a good number of seats available for $25 or less in a bad economy. (You can make a lot of money by getting a bunch of people in the stands, and you can still charge a bunch for the top 1000 seats, and make a huge profit.)

6. Play the hits, but play at least 6 full length songs from the last 5 years, so die hards will not be bored to death.

7. Every single song should be full length and should feature Prince on lead vocals. It would be like Wendy and Lisa singing lead on 10 songs on the Purple Rain tour with Prince playing rhythm guitar.

8. Every single song should be a PRINCE song. If I went to see Aerosmith, and they sang a bunch of Bon Jovi songs, I would be pissed. Remakes are for cover bands playing your local bar. Prince has my permission to play Just My Imagination, or A Case of U. Any playing of Everyday People, I want to Take You Higher, Come Together, and especially I'll Take You There...is FORBIDDEN!!!

Great points and ideas and well stated!! Also to add to this, dont think about too many dates in the friggin dead of Winter either

They are aren't they? smile

But Prince doesn't think this way, lol. He's on a different logic........ the purple thereom of logic

Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

People keep starting threads asking the same question....

http://prince.org/msg/7/350056

http://prince.org/msg/12/350174

http://prince.org/msg/12/350065

...to name a few.

I just don't understand the mods' (lack of) logic!

A week or two back I started a thread comparing a Chilli Peppers song to I Love U in Me. The discussion had just begun (a few people dismissed the comparison and then a couple saw what I was saying) and it got shafted to Non-Music and naturally died an un-natural early demise.

And, at the same time, they let this hit go on.... What's the logic???

I want Anx back!!!! mad

[Edited 1/6/11 11:05am]

I tried to create a thread and it was never approved. But this question that has been asked a million times is approved. I don't see the logic either.

What was the original question again?

lol

I think it was, "Where are the English subtitles when the Scottish speak???"

Just a little American humor at your Scottish expense confused almost as NOT funny as your comments

You don't have to change your personality to suit anyone, but really, don't expect people to take very well to your arrogant comments. When you knowingly offend someone, instead of apologizing, you have this cocky smug attitude of self entitlement.

Unfortunately when you have to brag about how you help people and throw it in other's faces it makes it seem like you just do it to make yourself look good.

Before you help others, you need to help yourself.

It's funny, people say the most obnoxious things on line because they feel they are anonymous and can get away with it. They wouldn't dare do it face to face.

I completely agree with the others that have commented on the arrogant attitudes some people have displayed. It is fine and dandy to express an opinion but there is no need to be so rude. I have been bashed several times by the same exact people for merely aquinting myself with the website and attempting to interact with other Prince fans. I apologize that some of us would rather do that than scroll through thousands of pages. And indeed, if it bothers you so much, why even waste your time clicking on it and making smart ass remarks? Does it amuse you to be disrespectful? I don't care where you are from, or what kind of humor you use, there is no justification for making others feel bad. You're going to give newcomers, myself for example, a bad taste in their mouths about this website. I surely expected a much friendlier atmosphere, where I could discuss music with others. That is what this site is all about no? As for the original question, I have wondered the same thing.
And together we'll stare into silence.

Hey, I can be rude sometimes myself, but nobody should be picking on anybody. My opinion is we all are fans. I have been on this site for as long as it has been here, and still feel like a visitor.

When Will I be rude?

Now there is this guy named Bart Van Halen who will bite your head off if you don't know the name of the extra who played the paramedic in Purple Rain, but at the same time thinks you are stupid if you like any Prince song after like 1989. I sort of make fun of his signature with mine, since his signature suggests that his posts are not authorized by the NPGMC...which I could've sworn was not in operation.

I myself, don't have time to scroll through page after page looking for something.

Thank you Spin!

With all that earlier nonsense being said... there WAS an additional date added. I'm still hoping for additional cities though, other than New York.

But yeah man, you got too many backseat moderators here... and too many rude arses.

But then again, Prince did wear a button that said "Rude Boy"... albeit 30 years ago. Perhaps some of these orgers are still inspired.

Cheers!

LOL - is the thread topic quality...or the fact that it was taken over by some serious bitchfight ??
