It's equally baffling to see MJ fans assume that people are insecure Prince fans just because we see how obviously creepy MJ is.

I mean, MJ creeps me out, but so does Gary Glitter. Does being creeped out by Gary Glitter make me an insecure Prince fan? lol

Really silly conjecture. The fact that we find MJ creepy doesn't make us insecure...it makes MJ creepy. rolleyes

I don't think they mean it because of that, it's the constant bring Michael into the discussion.....

I think Prince has always been un underrated dancer. I thought his lipsynced Gold Experience dance routine during the 1995 AMA (I think it was 95) was spectacular. Especially the part when BillyJackBitch kicks in.

I wonder if MJ actually thought his dance moves were sexy. hmmm It would be kind of like a Albatross thinking it could gracefully skip. lol

Has Prince ever acknowledge where he gets some of his moves from?

I know that supposedly Paula Abdul choreographed Batdance, but that's not exactly the same thing as watching him do his thing on Kiss or Girls and Boys.

I don't think he has too, alot of his moves are James Brown-inspired

Can we leave MJ out of this and speak about the evolution of Prince's dancing. I haven't seen any of the recent NY concerts but people are saying he's regained some of the flamboyance and energy in his moves. Could you tell us what he's doing differently now please?

Just by my observation of all the myriad bootlegs I've seen from over the years against the NJ show I was at was that he is hitting his moves and other stage antics much harder than he has in recent years. I remember seeing him gingerly sit atop a speaker to slowly swing his legs over it to get to the far side of the stage (maybe one of the EU 20ten shows, can't remember), and then in NJ he was climbing on pianos, spinning, stopping on a time and really working his hips hard. Maybe he was extra excited to be "welcomed 2 America?"

As far as favorite moves go, I can't describe it, but that rolling thing he does with his hands that goes up by his head is so cool. I can't begin to figure it out smile

I am a hardcore fan of Prince but I still like Michael's music. It is such a shame that no matter what forum you go to eventually people begin to pit Michael and Prince against one another; tearing one down while elevating the other. Whether it is a Prince fan or a Michael Jackson fan.

The bashing is not necessary. If the chosen artist is who the fan claims they are than the musical talents will, and do, speak for themselves. They are two individual musical geniuses in their own right that have carved out their own niche in the world. One cannot be compared to the other. I mean, they can but it doesn't make sense. Each have proven themself in the music industry and stamped their status as legendary.

And as far as Prince's dancing, it renders me speechless with a smile on my face. It is like the music takes over his body and he just puts out everything he is hearing through every member of his body. Someone mentioned the rolling thing he does with his hands. He did the hand waving thing at the NJ concert in December. I was like "oh yeah!" I don't see a grandpa dancing or someone like my father when I see him (he's two years younger than my father). I see a sexy man doing his thing. If I saw him in a party I'd scoot up to him and be like, "hey!"bananadance

Well said!

Michael Jackson was a great singer, dancer and songwriter.

Prince is also a great singer, dancer and songwriter.

The big difference, Prince is also a musician who plays several different instruments and is a master guitarist. You can't compare him to someone who didn't play any instruments.

Prince kind of trumps everyone with his scale of imagination and range of mediums of experession... albums, movies, butt-out pants, concept dance troupes, spoken poetry, artwork (his sometimes use of his doodles as cover art), music genres, different styles of dance/vocal performance, studio production techniques...

But I do think his range of dance vocabulary is increasing. Just comparing his Nude Tour moves for Baby I'm a Star to his Purple Rain Tour moves... he is always adding and refining, but he is holding back now, maybe for physical reasons, but what movements are there are way more stylized than what he was doing in Purple Rain days... but maybe that was intentional back then?

I see bootleg footage of his dancing on the Jam of the Year Tour, and there are moments that blow my mind.

I need to go stretch my hamstrings, I can't even bend to touch my feet!

I love his dancing and was at the 12/29 MSG show. I loved the moves he did with Shelby, as well as the free flow sexy dancing with Misty during the Beautiful Ones. He's a sensual kind of dancer with a sexy style and flair, but he can bring the crowd to their feet just waving his hands. He was very frisky at the show, shaking his ass 'like a juicy juice'. He looked great and you could tell he was having fun. He's like a funky Fred Astaire.

'purplemookiebut', 'Blixical' & 'LazarusHeart'...3 caucasian individuals giving their opinion on a thread concerning black cultural dance styles...whaddaya think orgers?...maybe they're authorities on the matter?... since they're bringing up issues such as 'vitiligo', 'hee hee's', 'crotch grabs', 'Gary Glitter' & posting episodes of 'Living with MJ', collectively...lol

Yeah. So just a reminder to black folk and other 'races', who respect aspects of black cultural styles...make sure the legacy of these artists is written by YOU...who truly understand and are comfortable with difference...and who don't go around judging people on their facial appearance...

Not by the insecure ones who project their anger and hatred towards themselves...outwardly.

It would be nice if I could find some decent boots from the last years because the last quality show I have is from 2004. Glad to hear he's hitting it harder than in the last few years.

To the absolute s***-head c*** who posted the footage from MJ and Gavin Arvizo from Bashir's bulls*** documentary: you stupid f****** p****. The boy was an extremely sick cancer victim, bald and emaciated when his mentally unstable mother used him to gain access to MJ and his money the same way she had tried with other celebrities including Jay Leno and Chris Tucker.

Idiots like you actually believe MJ used Neverland to pull teenage boys so he could have sex with them and yet out of the ONLY two kids to ever come forward with an allegation, one of them refused to testify in a criminal trial after his father asked for and recieved a settlement from MJ and the other was half-dead at the time of the supposed abuse!

Which would make MJ a really atrotious pervert. All that effort and he couldn't even pull one attractive-looking lad in 10 years so he gave up and had a quick tug with the cancer-boy whilst he was unconscious from his chemo.

I sincerely hope whoever you are, male or female, that someone grabs you one of these days, drags you down a dark alley and rams a rubber fist right up your anoos.

I have absolutely no time for anyone who still can't get over the fact that MJ was completely and utterly cleared of all charges despite the corrupt L.A. County Sheriff's Department stacking absolutely everything they could against him. This 'there's no smoke without fire' horse-s*** is completely unforgivable when the plain truth is so easily accessible.

'You're a fan so of course you'd defend him'. No you cretin, i'm a fan so I read through every single mind-achingly dull page of the 2005 court-transcripts and saw for myself that the prosecution had absolutely no case. And although there is an overwhelming amount of information out there proving beyond reasonable doubt that the 1993 allegations were a successful extortion attempt you don't need to read much further than Mary Ficher's GQ article 'Was MJ Framed?'.

Go educate yourself you dumb f*** instead of drawing conclusions from a tv documentary and getting your opinions from the screamingly obviously biased mass-media.

Prince's dancing over the past 10 years has been laughable! He doesn't even break a sweat. It's all just a couple of shoulder and hip shakes, him slicking his hair back like he's being cool, and some hand/arm movements, and that's it. Hell, the band doesn't move AT ALL. They stand there like statues, and the entire stage just looks stiff!

Remember back when the Revolution would move as one, along with the SOTT/Lovesexy band? Their moves weren't crazy, but there was some movement and simple choreography at least. Not too long after that, he started having his players sitting down. SITTING DOWN? He wants his audience up and dancing to his "funk", but the people playing it can't even be bothered to move? If they're not "feelin' it", then no one else really will either.

Nobody's asking him to do 10 splits in a row, do that backwards scoot move from Housequake on SOTT Live, or jump 10 ft up off of a piano. He's 52, for Christ's sakes, so no one is expecting that. But I'm sure he could do a lot more choreography than what he's doing. A lot more.

Love prince's danicing as of late. MSG was FOnKaY! His style has come a long way since IWBYL on American Bandstand. lol

On a side note, can we please leave the Hip rumors alone. Nothing wrong with that mans hips.

And as for poor Michael. let him R.I.P.

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.
