When Doves Cry

It's the Prince song I heard back in 1984 when I was in high school that really turned me on to Prince's music and made me a fan for life! What makes it cooler then was nobody in my high school dig his music as much as I did. Even after all these years, whenever I hear When Doves Cry, I get excited. It was avant garde then, and it still is 26 years later! (I can't believe I've been a Prince fan that long!)

Something in the Water (Does Not Compute) It makes feel anxious and sexified all at once...no other song has ever done that

PS: Optimus, I LOVE Chocolate Box! I think it's fab

Controversy - the beat, the funk guitar, the badass attitude, the melody of the chorus, the wah-ahh synth noise. Too funky I can't even sleep with myself!!!

All the Critics - just so left-field and hypnotic!

Something in the Water (does not compute) - A very nuanced song where I discover something new with each listen. Also, the desperation is palpable.

DIAMONDGEEZA

I'm going with the record that made me a huge fan to begin with "U GOT THE LOOK".Its just such a timeless and funky jam.It reminds me of the 80's'which isnt necessarily a bad thing.I grew up in the 80's and it was a great time to be a kid. There was no internet and it had better music most of the time than we do now.

The1592

Sometimes It Snows In April.

I hate to say it because it's such a sad song, but I think it's his best. I love the live versions better, but I wish he'd do the entire song live.

It changes with the seasons, but...

These days, it's either "Pop Life" or "Shy."

Or "Vicki Waiting." Damn.

I've seen the future, and boy it's rough...
