He's an impersonator, not the real thing. Of course he doesn't look or sound the same as Prince.

Nobody will confuse him for the real thing, but he seems to put out a show quite faithfully based on Prince's early '80s shows (although the dancers are an extra..). Something Prince will never return to, so for nostalgic reasons it has its place. Musically it's quite good and he's really offering a stage show. I've seen much worse...

Like Dennis said, he's an impersonator. Give the dude a break, he's doing stuff that none of you can/would do, and his band and the crowd seem to be digging it.

Maybe it's because I'm a naturally generous soul, but his Darling Nikki wasn't too bad...well, in the context of never seeing anyone else try to do it that is!

Writhing around in his undies certainly takes some guts, for it's slightly nauseating, but as a Prince fan it was at least entertaining, so fair play to him!

p.s. Agreed, that sax sounds great to me.

I don't really care how good he is. To be honest I didn't even listen. But if he was BETTER than Prince I still wouldn't care. He's not Prince, so I'm not interested. It's not the Beatles, so I don't care. I just don't get the appeal of impersonators. It works for some people, and that's cool. But the entire concept just leaves me goin' I'd rather watch a band struggle in a bar playing to five people, even if they're playing covers, than see an impersonator's "act".

I kinda like it, they make a show out of it. The band is pretty cool. You can see the singer is really into it, although he should have worked on his belly, if you're gonna perform like that.

I have seen many impersonators, and the point of their "talent" is 2 observe and act like Prince. No one wants 2 C some fat dude looking puzzled by holding a guitar, they want 2 C someone who is at least getting some of Prince's mannerisms down.

I was there that night and I must admit they were pretty shit hot and the chance to hear stuff live that I never would these days from the man himself is a good enough excuse to catch a tribute act at least once
