might be fair to say that the guidelines they espouse are enough for him to change what he says without them having to directly instruct him on it.

although i doubt the JW influence has had much bearing on him recently, with an album like Elixer and several other tunes from the lotusflow3r set being about as far removed from JW beliefs as they can get.

prince doesnt strike me as a willing Witness these days, or even a very good one god bless him lol

AWWW we all have to put up a fight to do whats right. sexy

Would they register him enough to actually bother to censor him. I get the feeling-and obviously I don't know-that he doesn't have to say fuck and sing about masturbation to be deemed inappropriate. He is still massively removed from conventional existence that I think there would be a sense that he was inappropriate regardless

Do you think Jehovah Witness elders or whatever they

called are censorshiping Prince's music

something like :Hey Prince i head your new album and

you have a song that is too sexual

or raw,you are our member you should not do that.

Do you think they do things like that, control Prince?

I know Larry was leaving Prince's concerts

because Prince was swearing

on the hit n run 2000/2001 tour a the begining of the

tour Prince was performing Darling Nikki

he was also humping the stage during performance of that song, yet

soon after after few bars of Darling Nikki Prince

was playing Joy in Repetition instead.

I think P did it himself more so then someone telling him to do it ...

You are right that Prince's mom was a JW...but I'm not sure his father was? IDK though. He was religious always, he just "realized" what he knew all along according to him. And yeah, the chick has converted...which is sooooo fake! You don't convert to anything for a man, it isn't genuine. You convert based on faith and truth. Prince is fine and sexy and all that, but converting to another religion for him? That isn't geniune and he knows it, so he shouldn't respect her for it.

Every church I've ever went to....Catholic, Baptist, Episcopal, Protestant, Chruch or Christ, and now Non-Denominational/Evangelical....has asked for 10%. Not a big deal if you love your church and believe in the work it's doing!! A church is also a busines...they have to keep it going. Our church has over 2,000 people, so we have a nice size church that is open 7 days a week, that's alot of electricity, water, etc. Money coming into the church is how it stays open!! So that isn't a negative side of a church...if one loves their church and wants to keep them around, they had better be putting $ in the collection plate!!

Um, I'm only going by what I've heard/read...Prince said after meeting him she converted. Read the writing on the wall. According to him, another of one of his women converted too. I guess women dating Prince just all have the same faith after being with him and they didn't have it before him? I know Prince is amazing and all, but c'mon. Lots of people convert to their spouses/mates religion when they are together because it's easier. Then when they split, the newly converted person leaves the faith. Because it isn't geniune. Being dedicated to a certain religion takes alot of faith, because it isn't an easy thing to be committed to, especially in this day and age.

If you're talkin' about Bria, she was or is Christian so 'converting' is not really that much of a big thing. It's just a different book they read and live by and the Sabbath Day or Holiest of days for JWs is Saturday ...

Well, yeah I guess you are right. But the JW are pretty different than other denominations of Christians. I haven't converted, so I can't speak from personal experience, but I've heard they were pretty intense. But being a Christian already would make it an easier convert than being a nonchristian. IMO, any convert should be genuine though, not just for a man/woman.

You know I read that somewhere too? I don't remember where, but I was like "HUH?" But I know later in life she was a JW and asked Prince to convert also.

Kind of a big jump from 7DA to JW though I would think...I mean their ideologies are totally different!! Sometimes they are confused by some people, so maybe the 7DA was a misprint?

Everything about Prince's personal life is a speculation since NONE of us know him personally. I'm simply going by what he said. He said she converted after they met, like another of his women. Soooo, that would make one draw the conclusion that these women convert for Prince. That's not really that big a deal since people do it everyday. I have a problem with it since religion already has a bad enough rap, the last thing we need are more "fake christians" running around. And since I don't see her as actually caring about Prince, then I see her convert as even more suspect! Like she is mocking religion by converting just so she can stay in his good graces and ride his money train. Some folks may not care about that stuff, but I don't particularly like that, so I'm going to voice it. Doesn't make it fact, just my thought out opinion...which joins the other 95% of opinions on this forum! And I guess I can conclude that you like Bria...sorry if it offends you that I don't like her, but outside of her lovely fashion and being able to keep Prince for 3yrs, I don't see anything great about her!!

I guess cause everyone dies anyway, no one can escape right? So why not have some faith for an afterlife? It couldn't hurt! Makes this life alot more pleasureable when there is hope for an afterlife and not just dark, bleak death I think!

Saw the following story on a music production forum about Prince's visit to Wendy & Lisa's studio. He tried to get biblical, but Lisa kept it real, lol

"Not a studio method story, but a funny one: a good friend of mine used to work with Wendy and Lisa on their soundtrack work and their Girl Brothers projects. He said that he was in the studio with them one day when Prince dropped by to chat. Wendy complimented Prince on how good he looked, how it didn't seem like he'd aged at all. He told her that in the Bible people lived to be hundreds of years old (I guess implying that his youthful good looks were partly a result of going all-out Jehova's Witness). Lisa's response: "I dunno, Prince, did you ever consider that maybe they just couldn't count very well back in biblical times?" Apparently, that shut him up for a few moments." thumbs up!

THATS why she converted...thats your own spin saying she converted for Prince...thats ALL YOU.

As I stated before...ALL the women Prince seems to date all have that same conviction about being a JW AFTER getting with Prince? Sorry, not buying it! I know religion is quite powerful. I also know a man as yummy as Prince can be very powerful as well. Not saying the chick wasn't a Christian before b/c I don't know. But what I do know is she wasn't a JW before. C'mon, it's not rocket science! But on a positive note, if she wasn't reading the Bible before, now she is so that's a good thing.

And yes, as a woman I do know what she is doing. I've dated men before and started going to their church. It makes sense really when you aren't already dedicated to a faith(which I'm guessing Bria prob wasn't since she converted so easily), you go to many different denominations of churches until you find the right one. But it ain't genuine! Bet you if Prince dropped her tomorrow she wouldn't last in the JW more than a good 3months if that! I've seen it too many times before. No biggie though, being dedicated to a faith takes alot and it won't last if it's only for a man/woman. It's a conviction in one's heart that will be tested many times. Only time will tell for Miss Bria...

First off I don't know her and I don't KNOW P but why are you assuming she did it for him ? personally I do not believe in changing one's religeon - I just don't feel you can but then I was brought up a catholic and now am or do not feel I belong to any one religeon at all - I feel that there are similarities in all and its not a football team and mine is better than yours position I just feel more spiritually connected by not connecting to one man mad religious group - my heart and soul and all discussions are held with God without the need for human interaction.
