Okay... What's the definition of artist then? confused

MJ deserves to be where he is. End of.

Prince is just unreal. He deserves to be in the top 10 at least so that's good.

Don't even start with Elvis.........

MJ is there because he has just killed himself, he had not done anything of note since.....whenever and lets not forget that only a few years ago he was being referred to as something else. The list is a crock of shit.

while I disagree with you about MJ, I do agree with this list being completely invalid nod

We all die my friend, so there is no trying involved is there.

However I am not likely to appear on that list am I, as it is for artists so what is the point that you are failing to make?

If we are going to overlook all the crimes of any artist can we expect to see Gary Glitter anytime soon on this list?

is that what i said?

1. u ask if u have to die to be on this list

2. u say they overlook crimes on this list

3. u miss the point because ur reading what u want to read to justify your obvious slant toward OVERLOOKING THAT PROBABLY HALF IF NOT MORE ON THAT LIST - ARE CRIMINALS.

my point was, as already stated in a question earlier. here it is again:

the people on the list are being judged according to their artistic contribution to music, yes?

I find it quite funny that if people were to do a little unbiased research (like I have done. Many books read, for and against. Court documents/transcripts etc..) they would actually see that Michael Jackson wasn't guilty of being a sick child molester.

He was guilty of being naive and thinking that the public wouldn't see him sleeping in the same room/bed as somebody elses children as strange and more to the point: dumb. Very dumb.

Inside Michael Jackson's Trial

Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/wa...OXjJZ31YCU

Part 5: http://www.youtube.com/wa...AFAmwl1s48

Anyway. Michael Jackson has broken so many records, had/has a huge range of fans from all colours and races, has written many classic records and probably had the biggest impact on music, video and entertainment that we've ever seen. It's up to us whether we want to take any notice of that though.

(The list is full of crap anyway lol)

Ooooohhhhhh!!!! That same money that was paid by the company that insured Michael Jackson at the time. Not actually by MJ, yeah that money,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlaVZw5h6YE That's a 22 second video of a recorded conversation the boys dad in 93 had with the boys step dad. This is not a man who has a son who's been molested by Michael Jackson. This is a man looking to extort MJ. Blatantly

Also, why would he go to trial in 05?

Haha enough said: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqZR55Go1QI

The problem here is that Adolf Hitler's actions were televised and his atrocities were proven without a doubt because he admitted to it and fashioned himself a celebrity dictator.

Michael Jackson didn't actually commit any crimes, maintained his innocence, was vouched for by hundreds of supporters in the entertainment industry (including people accused of being molested by him), and could only be misunderstood if a person purposely set out to indict him.

I find that a lot of the times when someone is intent on demonizing Michael Jackson (for whatever reason), they enact a posture of righteous indignation and piety that recalls images of Fred Phelps damning the world to hell for their misdeeds.

All of the information is there displayed in front of you, telling you that Michael Jackson did not, without a shadow of a doubt, molest those children and was, in fact, the victim of high profile extortion. What is surprising is not that he fell for it, rather that his convictions were so strong that he approached aiding kids in need with a sort of reckless abandon he eventually crossed paths with some exceptionally devious people.

Prince ahead of Elvis Presley, really???? eek lol

20. Marvin Gaye
19. U2
18. Pink Floyd
17. Queen
16. Madonna
15. The Beach Boys
14. Nirvana
13. The Who
12. David Bowie
11. Bob Marley
10. Stevie Wonder
9. James Brown
8. Elvis Presley
7. Prince
6. Jimi Hendrix

The top five (in alphabetical order):

The Beatles
Bob Dylan
Michael Jackson
Led Zeppelin
Rolling Stones

Prince IS an better artist than Elvis! biggrin I don't agree Bob Dylan should be so high up, nor do I think The Beatles deserve the top spot, top 5 yes, # 1? Not in a million years. MJ should be #2, cause Prince is #1, Elvis should be #3, The Beatles #4, and Madonna or James Brown as #5-#6. The Beach Boys, Nirvana, and David Bowie should NOT even be in the top 20...like em, but no where near as good as some of the other artist. It seems this list is quite biased and doesn't really represent raw talent!

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

And for everyone out there that keeps dissing MJ, he was the most influential artist of the last century in the mainstream folks!! Being an artist isn't just playing instruments. MJ sang beautifully, danced like NO else can, was an excellent songwriter, had an ear for good music, and was actually a great piano player. And MJ could create good music like crazy. Michael's best music was his least famous, surprise surprise. Invincible was his best cd and had great music. Michael is an artist if there ever was one. He deserves to be in the top 3 of all time. People need to forget about everything else, just focus on the music!
