Interesting tidbit - Prince wanted the price of the aftershow to be 125€, but because it was 4am before the audience was allowed in, the organizer managed to convince him to lower the price to 80€! Phew!

The proceedings, approx 28000€ , were shared among the musicians.

'Prince verdeelde opbrengst aftershow onder zijn muzikanten'

De exclusieve aftershow van Prince in de Viage in Brussel blijft nazinderen. Wie heeft in de dagen en uren voordien allemaal naar de pijpen van het onvoorspelbare popgenie mogen dansen?

Vrijdagnamiddag gaf Prince zijn Franse tourmanager groen licht om een zaal te zoeken voor een mogelijk extra concert na afloop van zijn optreden op Werchter Boutique. De man belde naar zijn persoonlijke vriend Nathan Ambach, zoon van concertorganisator Paul Ambach. De jonge Ambach zou de volgende twee dagen als tussenpersoon fungeren. In eigen naam, zo benadrukt hij, en los van de concertactiviteiten van zijn vader. Paul Ambach verliet begin dit jaar Live Nation, de organisator van het concert op Werchter Boutique.

Tegen zaterdagmiddag stonden vijf opties open, beweert Ambach: het Felixpakhuis op het Antwerpse Eilandje, de AB in Brussel, de Indigo Studio’s in Vorst, het Depot in Leuven en de clubzaal van het pas geopende entertainmentcenter Viage op de Brusselse Anspachlaan. In de vooravond zou Prince uitsluitsel geven óf hij een aftershow zou spelen, en op welke locatie. 'Zaterdag om 18u kregen we telefoon dat hij zijn beslissing had uitgesteld tot na het concert in Werchter', zegt Herman Hulsens van de AB. 'Toen hebben we ons teruggetrokken. De grote zaal lag moeilijk wegens de preproductie van de Gulden Ontsporing. De kleine clubzaal kon eventueel, maar dan moesten we rond middernacht ons personeel terugroepen uit vakantie. Dat zagen we niet zitten.'

Stunt

In de vooravond haakte ook het Felixpakhuis om dezelfde reden af. Zaakvoerder Tom Leclef: 'Om negen uur ’s avonds, een half uur voor het concert op Werchter, kreeg ik telefoon dat Prince pas om middernacht zou beslissen. Tussen de regels kon ik afleiden dat de kans klein was dat het gezelschap naar Antwerpen zou afzakken omdat de groep in Brussel op hotel lag. Toen heb ik alles afgeblazen. Jammer, want alles was in gereedheid gebracht. Onze concertzaal is nog maar van oktober vorig jaar open. Meteen Prince mogen ontvangen, het was een geweldige stunt geweest.'

'Een half uur na de Werchtershow kreeg ik tien minuten om alles te regelen’, zegt Nathan Ambach. De Viage kon op dat moment de beste papieren voorleggen, zowel op technisch vlak als om veiligheidsredenen. Rond half drie stonden zo’n 50 mensen te wachten aan de ingang van het entertainmentcentrum, waar ook het nieuwe casino van Brussel is ondergebracht. Eén van één zagen ze de muzikanten van Prince en zijn voorprogramma's Larry Graham en Mint Condition met de roltrap naar boven gaan. Prince zelf nam een andere ingang.

Entreegeld

Drie bedragen circuleerden op dat moment als entreegeld: 90 euro, 95 euro en 125 euro. Nathan Ambach: 'Prince wilde eerst 125 euro vragen, maar omdat de eerste mensen pas rond half vier de zaal binnen konden, kon ik zijn mensen overtuigen het op 80 euro te houden.'

Naar schatting 350 mensen woonden de aftershow bij. Het entreegeld - volgens onze berekeningen zo’n 28.000 euro – was voor Prince. ‘Hij heeft het geld na afloop onder zijn muzikanten verdeeld’, zegt Nathan Ambach. De inkomsten uit de drankverkoop – 5 euro voor een biertje en 10 euro voor sterke drank – heeft de Viage mogen houden.

Hey, at our age, it's all about the comfort!

As for the hoodie, maybe his hair wasn't right after the primary show, so this was a easy way to take care of that.

Or maybe it's his way of kind of 'hiding'? I read that he asked people to quit taking pictures as he was tired of it. (think that was from this show, but not sure) So throw on a hoodie and shades and you feel somewhat hidden...
