Prince at the end of Fargo

Was anybody ever able to confirm this rumour that Prince is in the movie Fargo, completely at the end?

It's a joke...he's meant to be the guy who's shot in the field.

It's just an MPLS joke

He recorded the song "Hey Hannigan" for the soundtrack, but they refused it.

They didn't refuse it, it was in a rough cut, it just wasn't used.

The Coen brothers have confirmed that it wasn't him, they just did it as a joke. Wasn't it a cameraman or similar? I seem to also recall that although the symbol used in the credits for "Dead man in field" (or however they worded it) was very similar to Prince's symbol it was not identical. They changed it slightly, probably for legal reasons as we know lol
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

http://prince.org/faq/7_General_Prince_FAQ

See answer 3.6

Short answer: no.

A modified version of the symbol does appear in the credits, though. Here is an excerpt from an interview with the Coen brothers in Premiere magazine, explaining it:

Premiere: A question for all the Coenheads on the Internet: What is that Prince-like symbol, the smiley face on its side, in the end credits?

Ethan Coen: That was our storyboard artist, who played the guy who drives by in the car with the red parka. He asked us if he could have that credit. We also use a lot of names of people we grew up with, scattered throughout the movie, being paged on telephones. But that's mostly because we couldn't think of names that would be appropriate.

My office at the time overlooked the car dealership where the Coens filmed some scenes. That's all I got.

If folks want to ask about Prince in a PRINCE fansite, let them have at it, for god's sakes. This is what this board is all about, afterall.

In all fairness, these kind of questions are older than Moses. It takes two clicks to find out the answers. Even if they are coming to a Prince fansite, please notice that the answer I posted was from PRINCE.ORG. There is a FAQ on the site, that people just need to open their lazy eyes and look at.

The best site about programming advise? StackOverflow. Wanna know why? Because the users get PUNISHED for stupid stuff: your questions get locked, your lame answers get downvoted, and before you know, you don't have reputation points to do anything much on the site for a while, until you do a lot of work.

Same with Reddit. Same with plenty of other sites.

Is using Google before asking a question that much trouble? Is searching the Org itself really such a hassle?

If I ran this place, Heidi would have earned herself a weeklong ban from posting.

It's frikking amazing how many people support laziness. It's in the frikking FAQ. You do know what FAQ stands for, right?

To be fair, although a little outdated now, Deja, Myself ana few others worked our asses off putting that FAQ together. If people spent a little more time making themselves familiar with the site and what is already available on it, we'd probably get a whole lot more decent discourse upinhah.

And you guys did a wonderful job. nod Unfortunately, the FAQ is not located at the top of the page since the stillborn Princepedia was started, so I would assume newer members think a FAQ doesn't even exist.

A permanent link to PrinceVault should be a mandatory feature on this site now, as it is what Princepedia should have been.

You do realize of course that the FAQ on this site isn't so easy to find for the new user or the infrequent poster. It's in one link at the top of the Prince forum, obscured by a bunch of gaudily colored over-kill highlighting so much information/rules, etc. Hell, I've been on this site for 16 years, and it took me a minute to locate the link to it.

Perhaps if there was a link on the front page of the site. Or a link in the "Home/Forums/Gallery/Chat/Events/etc." banner across the top of every page.

And really, what's it to you? You hate Prince and people in general. Why do you continue to involve yourself with either? If YOU ran this site, you'd be sitting here all by yourself proclaiming how right you are with absolutely no audience for it in your angry, bitter, anti-social way.

Your shtick is so old. And it has been for at least a decade.

My point is that I have never seen Fargo and your question was new info to me. There are several on here who feel they should be in control of what's posted because they personally have discussed it before themselves. Nevermind any of us who haven't learned of the topic they try to shut it down right off the bat with snide, negative comments. While I consider myself a huge fan of Prince I haven't seen, heard or experienced everything in the Prince universe and welcome any open discussions because you can learn something new everyday even from a frikking 15 year old movie.

Keep on asking whatever you want here. That why it's called a forum.
