i think this will simply be a 'new' album. not some vault project or
a release under the name.

he's shown time and again that he has no interest in releasing some
more vault albums like crystal ball in 1998.

there might be a vault track on the new album, just like he's done
with Rave or Feel Better, Feel Good etc. but i think that's all he
will be interested in. he usually just favors to put out his newly
recorded music.

the new pictures of Bria that surfaced and the Ebony advertisement
make me kind of doubt that the Ebony article will be exclusively
about a new album. i'm seriously thinking it may be just about his
personal life. perhaps an article about him and bria, who knows,
they may have even married for all we know.

concerning music, he's also been recording shelby's debut album at
paisley park, no? so all of this rumour may just be about her new
album instead of prince's?

altho, "andogynine" sounds more like a prince title, i guess. but
all i'm sayin is let's just wait and see. this thing can go many
ways.

what baffles me though is that prince doesn't start riding the hype
wave sooner on his new projects. what does it matter if word gets
out and people start to discuss stuff? it's all free publicity.

if the Ebony article is in fact about new music and a new release is
planned for june 13th than it will be in stores before a lot of hype
has been built. plus he'll be touring in europe at the time of that
supposed release. so how would he promote it?

i guess he could go on some european tv shows to play a few new cuts.
but it just seems unlikely.

ah, as always, any bit of news just throws up a lot of questions and
now answers.

Amarna Sound/Vision - was what he was going 2 use if he lost NPG

course there will be a new album, he is due, its been more than a year and he's normally pumping them out once a year or every year and a half.

however I think this is false. Prince would never call his album ANDROGYNINE, he would never miss the opportunity to put a number in his titles. If it were Androgy9 then this would have made more sense....

I totally heard there will be a new website for this project
and you'll be able to download exclusive material from it.
Supposedly Prince has recorded every performance he's ever performed
live, and has it stored away in the vault.
Over the course of the first year you can be expected to exclusive access
to those live performances, a possible future jazz album, and free
giveaways like an A-9 tshirt.

I think he's only charging $99 for all that good stuff.

The trademark for androgynine was registered over three months ago. There are rumours that the trademark in question is an album title; the album could be released in 2010.
The internet domain androgynine.com is still unregistered.
This shows a lack of interest, lack of planning, and whatnot, if we assume he shows a determination to defend the trademark by registering it.
Of course, when someone else grabs the domain (or a very similar sounding one like androgy9.com for example), mr P could gain ownership of the domain for a sum of money or after some court manoeuvres. But why not avoid all that for a cheap sum of a few dollars for registration?

It could also mean that he 'just' registered a trademark and that he is not interested to really use the name as an internet presence soon. Then the album title thingie sounds less convincing. He'll probably do the country album this year instead.
