*NEW* Peach & Black Podcast - Cause & Effect

*NEW* Peach & Black Podcast - Cause & Effect

Back in 2009 we reviewed the Lotusflower project and while discussing the amazing song ‘Colonized Mind’, Toejam mentioned something about ’cause’ & ‘effect’. Now almost one year later we discuss (amongst other things) the new single from Prince titled ‘Cause & Effect’ and we begin the show with a soundbyte from April 2009.

We also answer a fan question and go off on a few interesting tangents, so click on play and listen to the latest P&B episode - enjoy!!!

First Aired: Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Running Time: 56:18mins

Listen to the review (it's free!): http://peachandblack.podb...se-effect/

Participate in the discussion (also free!): http://peachandblack.proboards.com

Send as any questions you would like us to answer at funkytempleradio@gmail.com

Thanks for listening !

I wonder how many people here listen to these podcasts? Maybe the discussion is a bit too rational for some. Great review of C&E, as well as the tone of the conversation in general.

I listen to both this and Michael Dean's, and I enjoy them both. Podcasting isn't easy to do well, so I always want to show support for folks putting themselves out there.

As many hardcore music friends as I have, there simply arn't too many that are in to Prince, so it's nice to have these podcasts to join me on my commute. I am still working my way through the Peach & Black back catalog, so I haven't checked this one out yet.

I have lobbied the Peach and Black crew for a b-sides show... (that was one of my fav's on the Prince Podcast). I was promised a "it's on the list!", so I can't wait.

Keep up the good work gents!

Love the podcast guys' the point's made tie into alot of the stuff i was thinking about the song..

The sample is the hook on this ....with the big drum intro break.... just the first 2min of 5min record gives the record the slow start...then it just goes crazy and rocks out from their on... biggrin

Guys

I am curious to know how you plan to review some of the earlier material. Will it be based on your thoughts on the albums now, and how they stack up against each other or will it be a review based on when you first heard them. e.g., I know when I first heard Emancipation, I loved that album. But if I was to review it now, my thoughts would probably be very different.

Either way, can't wait till you venture further down memory lane.

Peace,

SC (also in Sydney!!)

Speaking 4 myself, I will cover both how I felt when the song / album came out and if I feel the same way today. Some of this will become evident in our next 2 shows, so keep listening...

I normally review it as I feel that week while listening to it in the lead up to the show. However if my opinion has changed for better or worse, I usually mention that and try to come to some conclusion as to why it's changed.
