What´s up with the Gold Experience?! Just heard some rumours that the gold experience is out of production.. WHat´s up with that?!
Why would Warner brothers stop to produce that (not too old) album (with hits like tmbgitw, gold etc)? I mean, there is albums that is much more older than just this one?! What´s up with this? And... Somebody knows if the original version of the gold experience is around there?! (the original prince set up, before the wb changed the list) such a good album that could make more people to enjoy prince even today I guess...

One of the orgers mentioned WB and Prince had an agreement in 95 to produce limited copies of TGE. They added that the reason was because P owned the masters to TGE, which is a good thing IMO.
I've never seen this confirmed by a reputable source, so who knows. If you don't have a copy, I've read several posts saying it's popped up on bargain bins and used cd shops. "Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion" -- Martha Graham

I wish I'd known about that back in 1995 because I would have bought two copies. I know I can still make a cdr of it, but it's not the same as going out and buying a new [mid price] copy of an album. Did that with "Parade", "Grafitty Bridge" and "Come" the other week, all of which were on sale for 10 Euro's a pop. That way the old ones get moved to the car and the new ones are used for home listening pleasure. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Most used CD stores I know have a copy of two of this 1995 release. Still pretty easy to find.

Somebody knows if the original version of the gold experience is around there?! (the original prince set up, before the wb changed the list) WB never changed anything about The Gold Experience. The only change to occur from the time the album was mastered to it's eventual release was Days Of Wild being dropped from the album, and that would have been Prince's decision, not WB's. In fact, contrary to popular belief, WB have never had the power to change anything Prince put out with them. They could advise or request changes, but they couldn't demand or enforce them. Though they could decide not to release something at all, if they were unsatified with it.

I could be wrong, but isn't it the case with record companies that they 'discontinue' an album just before re-releasing it at mid-price?
Let's hope that this is the case with TGE.
