I recall there being much ado about the number of instruments Prince can play back in his mid-80s hayday. At one point, I heard the ballpark number "24" thrown around.

Aside from the fact I can't think of 24 vastly different instruments (I don't consider an organ and a piano to be terribly unrelated), I'd like to know which instruments fall among that number.

As an aside, I've always wanted to hear him on drums a bit more.

Funny we had that convo the other day with Everlastingnow, and we couldn't name 25 instruments, all different.

I remember that in the liner of "For U" it lists a bunch of instrument he played in each song.

If some one has it, that might help.

I know there are a lot of people on the org that will yawn about a thread like this because they do pop up quite regularly.

But really, it would be fascinating to know what he can play and to what level.

For example, is that him playing steel drums on "New Position"?

What instruments could he possibly play, above the ones we already know about like Guitar, drums, keys and bass?

I would love to know if he's messed around with violins or trumpets or whatever.

He did play harmonica, on 'Girl O' My Dreams', right?
