Question About The Work

Ok, i've seen cats on here for years raving about this volume and now i have a chance to get it but the track listing doesn't look too appetizing. some of the tracks i long to hear aren't on it and it seems to be older versions of songs that were redone. if those of you who have it had to recommend ONE volume from the set, which one would it be and why? thanks.

Why not just track down "Work it"?

I've been listening to it over the past few days &,for me it's a case of sifting through it to find the best tracks.I've only got the first 4 parts right now & I don't think theres any one disc that has more standouts than the rest. They all have a few gems.

dance4me,Can you tell me more about Work It?

it's not really the kind of collection you'd want to sit down and listen to one volume or one disc of. after the first (was it 5?) volumes, it became very much a work in progress, a new volume coming out as better quality versions turned up or were tweaked, stuff that fell through the cracks etc.

it's basically a dumping ground for everything. as such, it's not a satisfying listen in its own right, really. it's just what you pull from to create YOUR OWN boots. shrug

So Work It is the latest upgrade if you will? Is the quality in sound much improved?

on most tracks it is. One song I noticed that improved was "All my dreams,it sounds like its from a official cd. But one track that got worse was "Shes just a baby". Idk if WORK it is the newest one or not. I also heard of a set called "30 years of funk"
