Under The Cherry Moon Movie Commentary

The Prince Podcast crew records a commentary for the Prince’s Under The Cherry Moon. So get you dvd out and prepare to laugh.
You can download it here.

Warner Bros also has a function on BluRay players that are BDLive enabled to record your own commentary for a BluRay DVD, upload it (you record it online), and then you can share it with your friends. I want to do one for Purple Rain, but it doesn't have the BDLive content on the BluRay.

PS I'm watching this w/ your commentary. I've thought of doing one for Purple Rain anyway, and sharing it on a podcast for fun.

One thing you guys missed was the purposeful ode to Chris Moon on that sheet of paper on the bed. There's a "C" and a moon next to it. Not a coincidence.

Also, this was Kristen Scott Thomas' second movie, not her first.

This really is a funny commentary. You guys are missing a few factoids and things but overall, very good. I love the Jerome-ambiguous talk. I'm on the Alexa De Paris dancing scene.

Shit, I just realized there's a Sheila E. record in the "butterscotch" and "chocolate" scene, near the closet behind the lamp on the nightstand! Ya'll didn't catch it (of course I didn't either until tonight).

You should do a podcast! On second thought, I don't know if I'd ever be prepared to hear your take on the movie. lol You're a smart, occasionally funny person, but if/when you get too blunt, I react like rolleyes or brick most of the time, to be honest.

I actually had an internet radio show for two years. I think I'd be more open now than I was then. I don't think my twocents on Purple Rain would be too different than anyone else, but we all have a different take on certain things. I need to get like 3 or 4 or 5 orgers together on a conference call and record the phone call. HMMMMM.

Christopher and Tricky have even Miles Davis record in one of the scenes in their flat.

Nice to see some color shots from UTCM. Hadn´t seen any since the Jewel Box pictures back in the days.

Yeah, but that one was obvious and in the middle. The Sheila E thing was tucked away, but still visible.

Hey... I'd love to be a part! I've seen this movie about 80x. Seriously.

I know every little nook and cranny, down to the zits on Prince's face during the Bela Lugosi scene!

PICK ME! lol
The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

Really enjoyed your podcast! Pretty good idea having the listeners pop in the dvd and watch the movie at the same time. I'm the only Prince fan in this family, so having people laughing at a particular scene or enjoying the music with me was fun. Great job! thumbs up!

Yeah, I enjoyed this. This was cool. I'm very interested in what the Purple Rain commentary is gonna turn out.

I have one or two people on board. I definitely am going to do one. One person declined, which is cool (although I would have loved their two cents on it). Hopefully the other two will say yes.

Anyone ever address the mishmash of time references in the film? Old cars, new cars, modern records -- anyone else struck by the weird attempt at timelessness?

Hey put me on, I'm down with it. I would love 2 be apart of the commentary. I would love 2 talk about 'Purple Rain' the movie, the album, and more. That would be great. It's so much 2 touch on, it's crazy. LOL!
