Ohh only five? Well I guess I would choose:

1. Shockadelica - Oh My God I just love this song, I can listen to it for hours and never get tired of it!

2. Erotic City - To hard to explain why

3. Purple Rain - How can you get tired of this song?

4. We can funk (with George Clinton) - This song is one of the funkiest songs I've ever heard

5. Little Red Corvette - Prince's best song in my opinion

biggrin biggrin

Who said only five?

Five was offered as an option . . . . ok.
[Edited 11/21/09 17:20pm]

But she/he said post 5, but anyhow it's good that it was only five, cuz I would end up saying all songs I've ever heard hehe razz

My son loves these songs and I currently have the album in the car.
I like to hear him sing along - he's getting good!

Another week Crystal Ball overload

1. 18 and over, slick lyrics, good old fashioned cursing and the naughty Prince/Symbol of old, complete with catchy sleigh bells!!!!!

2. She Gave her angels, catchy and weepyish type ballads, multitracked voices more Genius.

3. Strays of the World, a truly underrated and unappreciated ballad

4. 3 Chains of Gold, Pompous and Overblown, but absolutely perfect too, it sweeps and builds this one.

5. Scandalous - The Rapture That guitar solo can make your hair stand on end.

Hot shot: Get Loose, very catchy and actually better than loose and I love the "Take that you sly motherfuckers" at the end.
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Actually it isn't.
I see what you're getting at, but that isn't irony.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Prince is a behemoth musical extraordinaire so it's very taxing to try and muster a fairly succinct and definitive list of the songs that touched me most, but I'll give it a shot.

In no particular order of preference, or chronological order....

My Love is Forever (Both versions, Studio and Bootlegged)
She Spoke To Me
The Truth
Ballad of Dorothy Parker
Wouldn't You Love to Love Me?
1+1+1=3
Computer Blue
When We're Dancing Close and Slow
Mountains
Sexy MF
Sexy Dancer
We Can Work It Out
Free
Girls and Boys
How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore
In Love
Head
Do Me Baby
For You
Leaving for New York
Rock Hard In A Funky Place
Condition Of The Heart
Xhalation
Nightingale
If I Love You Tonight
I Wanna Be Your Lover
Lady Cab Driver
Soft and Wet
The Work
Do Me, Baby
Nadeara
Baby
D.M.S.R.
Donna

And probably a never ending plethora/shit storm of musical offerings from the we deem to be rather purple and really rather funky.
