Has Prince ever played Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain" in concert? Being such a sick guitar player and P-Funk fan I'd have to assume he's done that one at least once. "The cycle never ends...you just pray you don't get burned."

Apparently not. Purple Fact #542: Prince can make a Weeble™ fall down.

One of the saddest songs ever. Imago: "You look My cover of the "Crush" by Smashing Pumpkins: http://prince.org/msg/15/314710.

I thought this piece would have influenced Prince to jam it in public but quite sure it hasn't been done. Nothing can beat the soulful original. Left Of The Middle....

In my mind i'd be in the audience at a concert and prince would ask "what d'ya wanna hear?" i'd shout "maggot brain" and he'd nod to the drummer/bass to start that slow rhythm intro, building up to the shrill guitar tones of eddie hazel (channelled through prince).

Yeah that's true now that I think of it. I've only heard of him doing "One Nation Under a Groove" and the bass line to "Flash Light" when he played with George at the Rave Un2 show. "The cycle never ends...you just pray you don't get burned."

Then you would be OK with The Feederz song "Jesus Entering From The Rear"? Purple Fact #542: Prince can make a Weeble™ fall down.

It's classic, you should take a listen! I love the quirky intro. Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time For y'all have knocked her up. I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe I was not offended For I knew I had to rise above it all Or drown in my own shit. Eddie's guitar playing is super powerful, very emotional to hear!

Interesting. What is the date or name of the bootleg? Purple Fact #542: Prince can make a Weeble™ fall down.

According to Blackbyrd P has been invited (many times) by George to join them onstage to jam on "MB". P always says he'll do it and then backs out at the last minute.

I've never heard Prince performed Maggot Brain, but I definitely think that Purple Rain was influenced by it.
