Yes, I have noticed that in the left headphone in "Space" some woman groans. Imago: "You look My cover of the "Crush" by Smashing Pumpkins: http://prince.org/msg/15/314710.

After 16 years, I just learned the words to Soft N Wet about two weeks ago. I have probably heard the song well over 500 times, but I could never tell what was said for a small part of the song, beginning with the "If this is Lust" part. Ithaca's Number 1 Prince Fan

Took me ages to hear the 'pop' sound in Play in the sunshine after he sings 'pop... Goes the music'

THERE'S so many multilayered songs out there...particularly on D&P.

What I always loved about The Gold Experience the most was that I seemed to hear new things everytime I listened to it. Especially in P Control, Shhh, We March (oh yes, I think it's a great song), Now, 319, Shy, I Hate U and Gold.

Just the other day I noticed that the drum pattern about 7:50 into "Save the People" seems to be very much like the drum pattern about 8:30 into "The Glamorous Life" (album version). And then I laughed at myself for finding something new to be nerdy about after a quarter century of listening to these two songs.

It took me years to listen to the little keyboard part in 'When Doves Cry' that has the 'music box' effect in the rhythm section.

COME, both the album and title track seems to have a lot of little interesting moments and parts in the songs that I originally missed. The doozy has got to be The Gold Experience though. There are all sorts of subdued moments in the otherwise flashy albums. I'll hear a bit of the rythem or bass section that sounds so clever or unique that if he pulled it out and made them the premier sound in a completely separate song, it would sound off-the-hook and merit it's own greatness. But it speaks volumes to the man's real genius that he can take such clever little tunes and sounds and 'bury' them in the mix. Lastly, Emancipation is another one of those albums that has hidden Easter eggs. I think another thing that speaks to Prince's genius is the fact that you can put a song down, and when you go back to it a few months later, you hear a 'quality' of the song that causes you to realize you've just been too distracted to realize the greatness of it the first time around. The horns in NOW is a prime example...focus on them and it's an entirely different track

Scarlet - red/period That is what the song means right??? I have never thought about that. It makes perfect sense. I will have to listen to it later. Ithaca's Number 1 Prince Fan

People have never put 2 and 2 together? I'm not judging because there are songs I don't get...but it was never about a cat who is in season and attracting real life canines.

The whole practice of it is way too post-modern for a modern man such as myself. I never actually though it was about cats. I figured it was a woman, but I never spent much too much time dissecting the actual meaning. Again, I am not a Po-Mo. Ithaca's Number 1 Prince Fan

Thats cool i wasn't judging...he'll I still don't get Purple Rain or Starfish& Coffee. Just thought SCARLET PUSSY, "every first of the month" dogs lining up ie in season/heat was obvious. Barmy. Why isn't it called vagina? well it could be and that would be fine, but if he then spent the chorus singing 'angina', then it would be odd.
