Any Prince mistakes you've seen in concert?

During a show in Philadelphia... the Musicology tour... Prince dropped his microphone early in the show!

I was like...

He picked it right back up, but all night long, I was like... "Wow... Prince dropped his microphone. What would have happened if it rolled onto the floor and he couldn't get it??? LOL"

Prince comes out crowd goes nuts and he says " Hello Oakland" Oops! LOL!! The crowd was quick to correct him.

On the 1999 tour, I saw him pop someone in the head with the mic on the front row when he did one of his James Brown mic stunts where he makes it fall forward and kciks the base to tilt it back upright. (He does this during Darling Nikki scene in Purple Rain).

I haven't seen him THAT many times, but I've never seen him make a mistake. Unless of course 'song choice' could be considered a mistake.

For example, of all the songs he could have chosen for his Emancipation tour, he plays 'Freaks on This side' which wasn't even from Emancipation. I don't recall any other songs from that period being played--it was a greatest hits concert.


but to answer your question, I've never seen him make a mistake. I've seen his after parties too, which are phenomenal (much better than the concerts), and even during 'warmups' and 'jams' he never made a mistake---hard to do at 3 am in the morning

Once - he screwed up the lyrics to Strange Relationship.
Another mistake (not his) he was on stage talking about his red boots and a red spot was supposed to hit the boots and they threw a blue spot. He goes" I said red!" but that's it. he doesn't make many mistakes.

yeah i have that philly concert and that ruined it for me lol i havent watched it since.

At the 28-03-95 Forst Nationaal, Brussels aftershow he performed "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" but he missed his cue 4 the vocal then he recovered things in amazing fashion by turning it in2 a sublime guitar instrumental and the best version of the song I've ever heard.

If U listen 2 the track listen out at the part where the vocal was supposed 2 start, a few seconds later U can hear Sonny T laugh at him 4 messing it up.

He knocked over a mic stand, it almost cracked some guy in the head by I caught it and prince gave me a look and I shoved it back up to him.

How about at the MTV awards when he wore
the famous cutt out butt cheek yellow suit..
When he first comes to the mike, he fumbles it,
but covers it up well, as always...

I like how he deals with the mistakes he makes though...lighthearted...
he'll make fun of himself too
