Prince's voice ... how do you describe it?

I just found this in regards to Freddy Mercury's amazing vocals.
Freddie possessed a remarkably light voice, capable of producing not only very high sounds but low sounds as well. If we were to classify him according to the classic standards he would be a light tenor or a lyric tenor. He had a most enviable vocal extension, with an outstanding range of three and a half octaves and a major sixth, including his falsetto singing (F2 - D6).
Since falsetto is not a part of a singer's real range, his real full-voiced range was three octaves (F2 - F5).
But Freddie was actually a baritone. His lowest range was below C3.. He was a light baritone, who was actually singing in tenor's range. His passagio zone was, in fact, more similar to tenor's than a baritone's.

Accessible and full balanced, almost completely lacking in overly dry or astringent harshness. Often bringing out an almost meaty, almond bouquet with a slight marzipan haze.

I think when you see actors express themselves with their actions or dancers express their mood with their movement. Prince can put you in the mood with his remarkable voice.. the feeling he imparts into his songs. So soulful, so sensual. He is amazing..

I describe his voice as unique. No matter how many people have tried to sing like him, no one can match his voice. The fact that we can hear singers try to sing like Prince says a lot to me. His vocal uniqueness is a major part of why he stands out, even moreso now than 20 years ago. He can take it high, he can take it low and he can alter it to sound like whatever he wants it to sound like. His voice is as much an adventure as his music is. It's that vocal uniqueness that drew me into Prince in the first place and I love now just as much as I did 25 years ago when I became a fan.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
