That's not a Telecaster... it's a German guitar called Hohner TE... an imitation which sounds much less although the original Fender Telecaster...

The 'cloud' guitars are so distinctively his, without being as obvious as the 'symbol' ones.

I love the prince era immensly, but as kick-ass guitars go, I'm going with the 'cloud.'

Hard to choose, but clean, rhythm has to be the Hohner, solos, gotta be Blue Angel or any cloud - nearly bought one from his mail order in the early '90s. I regret not doing so every day!

Even though the Tele is HIM and he kicks butt on it especially his rhythm playing which is priceless, there is something special about the blue cloud and his tones and solos during the Lovesexy era.

I have 2 Fender Strats myself (both lefty models)--a white one with standard Fender single-coil pickups and a black one w/ a white pickguard and a DiMarzio rail-style humbucking pickup and 2 Fender single-coils.

I've been thinking about buying a Fender Telecaster, too.
