I was just wondering if anybody is digging this song like i am...damn it's funky!!

I actually didn't realize until I heard Irresistible Bitch afterwards that the song took it's melody from Bacon Skin originally.

Awful, awful track. Complete waste of space on the Crystal Ball set IMHO.

There was a great post a while back when someone came up with a great reason why Crystal Ball wasn't all that, with strange track choices, versions, etc. It was all over the place... just like the bootlegs it was competing with. The poster believed Prince was trying to emulate the typical mixed bag of a bootleg, and I think he was probably right. With this in mind, Cloreen Bacon Skin is the bootleg track which is not really an attempt at anything at all just a bit of mucking around. But it's ended up being recorded, it's rare, and so it's out there, quality be damned.

Crystal was not meant to sound like an album or to be an album it was a collection of unreleased tracks and outtakes. Everyone needs to stop trying to turn it into something it was never meant to be. A bootleg is not supposed to have a cohesive flow. if it happens to work out that way then "hey you can stop being anal for 50 minutes" and if it doesn't then enjoy the music.
