According to Billboard, although Purple Rain is easily Prince biggest selling album, it only comes in 3rd place in time spent on the Billboard 200 Album Chart.

I don't think those numbers I posted are correct. I could have sworn that 1999 spent about 150 weeks on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. | |

It did. I actually spent 153 weeks on the album chart. PR spent 72 weeks on the chart. Now that was both during their initial runs (1982-1985). Since then both albums have spent some time on the Billboard Pop Catalog charts. I believe Billboard has added those weeks as well to the two amounts mentioned above (I don't have those updated figures on-hand however. I hope that helped. | |
