A Prince 'Graceland 'in North Minneapolis?

Hello All!

I was scanning the radio stations in my car the other day and I happen to be listening to KMOJ 89.9 in Minneapolis, when the announcer was saying they should build a Prince 'theme park' of sorts in North Minneapolis, cause that's where Prince is from; she thought it would revitalize the neighborhood.....

Then just last night someone told me that Prince has 'bailed out' KMOJ several times before, I don't know how true this is, but it got me wondering a few things....

Would it be cool to have a Prince Theme Park? Would he like that idea?
If Prince does financially help KMOJ why don't they play better music, and More of his new stuff?

biggrin

He's a charitable guy always has been wink He's done alot for schools and charities and people don't talk about it and they should. But to answer your question I'd say "NO." Graceland and Neverland for that matter are and were money makers of course, but with Mo Money comes Mo Problems and Prince is doing fine without a theme park or museum. These things just invite problems.

I have to say that it does sound kinda cheezy, and too comercial for our sauve Prince, however I happen to really like Dolly Parton and she pulled off her Dollywood theme park pretty good, I would so love to visit Dollywood someday... it's on my list LOL razz

That's funny. I went to the Minnesota State Fair today and saw that Prince illustration. My wife also took a picture. It's on the "Fun House" or whatever it's called. It has a bunch of mirrors and glass walls, so you get stuck inside a maze. My 7 year old daughter went in it. This is one of those semi-trailer rides that get airbrush painted with a different theme every year. This year's theme was rock stars. The ride is on the southeast end of the midway.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

it would be good if he opened a musical district, you know where bands could play on the street and outdoor mass block parties smile

I'm feeling this!

Wallyworld in MPLS.

A purple main street, paved with gold leading into the park....

The Lotusflower.com zone, where you wonder through, find nothing of interest, and when you get to the other side, you find you are $77 lighter!

The Empty Room Ride - a 1800 New funk zone, where you can walk through a huge empty room, except for all the post it notes on the wall from the outstanding Crystal Ball orders!

A gift shop that sells life memberships, which are valid for upto 365 days. You can also order tees that will be delivered to your door no later than 2099.

The Had U ride, where fans can climb on and get fucked over by Prince time and time again. (fams get an automatic fast pass)

The Londell Logflume - Fans take a wonderful ride down the "holy river". Every rider gets a cease and desist paper to take home at the end.

The possibilites are endless! wink
