I don't know of any 1990 versions

The only rehearsals I know of with this song are prePurple Rain
of course it was given to Sheila E and I like her version too
But this was performed live at 1st Avenue 6.7.1984 (Hot show, hot rendition)
"This song is dedicated to that Sheila E. dame over there..."

I was just listening to the realeased Sheile E. track and it's sort of funny how closely she mimics Prince's trademark phrasing on that one - it's really like listening to a Prince track redone by someone else. Which of course it is!

The rehearsal version is beautiful, but he had so much quality material to choose from during those days.

No wonder my computer couldn't find it. It was labeled Neon Rendezvous. Even still, I only have the version on volume 5. My volume 1 is incomplete. I only have discs 1, 3 and 5. Dang it!!!
