Well I think it's high time to get this thread back on track cause it's derailed quite nicely but this is the org so this is to be expected.

I'm looking at these pics, which I must say are amazing as some of them I've never seen before, but I must say while I don't want to screw Prince, this is the one period where Prince really did look hot. I gotta give him props for the style and fashion he had in this era. He was working that short hair and all the outfits he was rockin during this time!

It's my opinion that some of the best videos 2 come out of Paisley Park happened during this time period.
I haven't seen this video in a while, didn't even remember the part where Susannah does a whirlwind twirl into the group and does her scream.
That video showcases some good band entertainment.

help me out, is Romance 1600 connected with Parade or is Sheile E
Romance 1600 & A Love Bizarre were rocking the Family came out the next month Screams of Passion and (what month did Kiss drop?) that was rocking for a long while
Prince & the Revolution and Sheila E did a lot of shows together with A Love Bizarre

Nearing the middle to the end of the Parade tour Sheila look had changed to the look of the new Sheila E album

So is it safe to say Romance 1600 & Sheila E were a part of the Parade era?

ATWIAD and Parade were all the same period, look, style. The Family and Romance 1600 were a part of that, as much as Madhouse and Jill Jones was a part of the SOTT era.

I'm not saying this is where Prince got the name from but there was a christian flovoured cult group called the Children of God(1970's) who renamed themselves the Family in the early 80's.

Sexual freedom was the law,more sex was better wife sharing and into the early 80's sexual activity with children was allowed. They were wide spread and of course sex was the way to gain new members. the boy who was to supercede the cult group leader R. Rodriquez as a boy had sex with the women and even ended up having sex with his own mother. Most of this information didn't come out until years later about the kids though.

But does anyone know where Prince got the idea of naming the Family the Famly?
