The symbol and Chelsea Rodgers The symbol has had various incarnations. From the first, rough one on the 1999 cover, on Purple Rain, up to Sign O' The Times and Lovesexy, Graffiti Bridge and Diamonds and pearls. In all these albums, the symbol was just the union of male and female symbols. Then with  we have the complete one (something to do with a kind of soap, if I recall).
When Prince married Mayte, instead of the little bar in the middle, Prince put an M. Now that he knows young model Chelsea Rodgers, he rearranged it with the initials C.R. I can't draw this here, but U can see that in 'The One U Wanna C' video. Does this mean friendship or the promise of a future liaison? Thoughts? [Edited 10/22/08 14:27pm] | |

I don't think it means anything, Tamar had one too with the T entwined in the P. I think he gives it to all the girls. | |

I would guess that it is respect for who the person is and what they have done in their lives with their given talent. I guess Prince's wives lettering has a little deeper of a meaning.  "The Lion Sleeps Tonight... | |

NO, it's a form of ownership. Like saying 'this is mine'. Correct. Prince has always had this habit to take someone/something and change her/it according to his ways. This modus operandi has reinforced lately. | |

the CR symbol is in the vid 4 'Chelsea Rodgers' and also  believe it's in the vid 4 'The 1 U Wanna C'
