Anyone ever heard or seen this? Jordan Knight from New Kids on the Block covers "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man"

He turned it into a ballad. Have you heard the Eels' version of it? It's on You Tube, but somebody turned off the sound! They also do a cover of "If I was Your Girlfriend".

I love his version and have a hard time comparing it to the original, because he turned it into a ballad. His album is pretty good too and I hated NKOTB.

I'm pretty sure the ballad idea was Jimmy and Terry's.

nod Most likely, but whoever did it did a great job. I like it a little better as a ballad because of the song's lyrics. The lyrics are too melancholy for the song to be upbeat, but that's just me.

NKOTB were at the New Orleans Arena last night. We had to play a Wedding in one of the rooms in the Dome which is adjacent to the Arena.

There were lines and lines of 30 and 40 something ladies dressed in that era.

After the Wedding walking to my Jeep I heard loud screaming from the ladies in the Dome while they sang "Please Don't Go Girl."

I say New Edition and Debarge and The Jacksons (We know MJ may not want to do it.) Go out and tour. People still love the music and they could do well even during a so-called recession.

When was that again? He did an accoustic version of it in 2004 too, on MTV so I'm guessing it was the same sort of thing he did at PP, but I'd say that's a totally different sort of thing / vibe altogether!

Being a fan of both of the men, I was nervous that JK would not do it justice. I'm happy he pulled through with what he did with it. lol

Not bad...I didn't like it when I heard it about 3-4 yrs ago...
On second listen, I think JK pulled it off...it's one of the best covers I've heard...Great that he put a slow vibe spin on it, a straight cover wouldn't have done it.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
