Secondly, you can see that Kid knows that the behavior he copies from his father is wrong. Than, you see it as he hesitates to hit here again, after already wrestling her to the ground, as an attempt to take away the flask she was guzzlin' from.

See, dude didn't have anyone to show him how to communicate, how to handle frustration and disappointment and fighting, getting angry and hostile is what he has to resort to, knowing no other way.

I suppose he found what he did was wrong after his father killed himself, realizing, that this is where he might end up if he didn't straighten up his act. In his own little way, as he kisses Appolonia as he walks through the backstage crowd, and gives a peck on the cheek to Wendy or Lisa (sorry, I'm not sure which one) during his performance of Purple Rain, he shows that he is sorry and understands that in all his dealings with people he needed to change.

Did Appolonia deserve to be smacked? Hell to the no!!! Instead of falling in the wrong direction of the impact of the swing, she should have Chung Li'd his little butt all through that Fun House lookin' basement he lived in.

But although she didn't deserve to get hit, she should have had respect for someone she decided to be in a relationship with to explain the whole situation including her decision. It was disrespectful of her to just plop on the Kid's lap some guitar that he didn't seem to like anyway. Then go and blurt out "I'm joining Morris' group." That was dumb. Like she tried to put the band aid on before the injury. - Backwards.... She needed some psychological help also. They deserved each other.

If there happens to be a part 2 to this move, I hope to see both The Kid and Appolonia married and draggin' their kids to some kind of therapy. You don't get involved with musicians if you're not strong enough to handle the pressures. Doesn't matter if they're big time or not. It takes a very big toll on a man or woman who is trying to make some money in this buisness. And the fact that they both wanted to "make it"....pshh..the rest of that story's and how that worked out gotta be told in Purple Rain Part 3...and perhaps part 4. LOL!
