Go and Cosmic Day were already out there, of course. Go in a bad version, Cosmic Day being the only interesting snippet, as it races into a verse and a chorus, while the rest takes somewhat longer to get into their groove.
I am most curious to hear more of Everybody Want What They Don't Got, as it sounds simple straight up and Hard To Get, as it sounds dark, esp the vocals. And the Linn loop of Traffic Jam sounds tight too. Strangely, when I saw the lyrics to Adonis And Bathsheba back in the day, I already KNEW it would be a horribly overwrought song and indeed. Big House sounds a lot like the Carmen Elektra outtakes; fast and uninteresting.

Almost exactly what I was thinking, except I'm not too pushed on Everybody Want What They Don't Got - it's a bit too Billy Joel-esque for my liking. Hard To Get is the pick of the bunch for me. According to the description on the site I sourced them, they are from a tape of 30 samples - "an in-house compilation tape to highlight songs that Prince was offering to other artists to record". I'd like to hear the rest but the standard of these isn't great. Maybe that's why he wanted to pass them on to others (and make a few $$$). And it would explain the silly vocal pitch of Cosmic Day - the song's meant for a female singer.

Co-sign. A year's wait for that??? Two very average shows spliced together. Wow. Should have kept it simple: Power. Trio. Soundboard.

"Hard To Get" has been available for quite some time. It's from the 1979 "Rebels" sessions, and it's actually not a Prince song. If I remember correctly, Dez Dickerson wrote and sings lead on it (or maybe it was Andre?).

...but this version is a new and different version with Prince on vocals from controversy sessions(late 1980-81)! [Edited 9/30/08 8:28am]

So is this a forthcoming bootleg then? My bootleg guy hasn't sent me an advert for this yet. And if so, are they all just being released in snippet form? Thanks.

Actually, I always thought it was a good song (the Rebels version), but it kind of bothered me that Prince didn't sing on it...

i just think its weird that these samples have just popped up out of the blue, i mean they've existed since the 80s so why have they suddenly just cropped up, if i let my mind go wild id speculate a crystal ball is being played around with again, i know what people'll say yer right, and i think that too, but it is strange someone just decided to release them, for instance when people talked about these boots claiming they had them before, they spoke about them like they were the prized personal possessions, that they wanted to keep for them self's, whats changed?

Every leaked tracked is stellar and worthy of his collection. Adonis & Bathsheba is cheesy and silly, but it has that certain "thing" that makes you want to listen to it over and over again. I think Susan Rogers was right when she said that it wasn't worthy of his best work, but still... I can appreciate a bad Prince song with some history, thought, and true artistry behind it. I would buy this song. Prince, release it! I'd love to see a collection of outtakes with (honest) comments from Susan Rogers, Wendy, Lisa, everybody around during that period, even if they are critical or not so high on certain songs. You can appreciate a song without actually liking it. That's what Prince is missing in his art... honesty and a critical eye. No, but I would like to hear them-don't even think about orgnoting me either

Doesn't the vocal melody of Big House sound like Emancipation the falsetto's are similar in both songs as well, even the 1st line of both songs have the little baby line, and both mention being free.

Everybody Want What They Don't Got and Traffic Jam are my favorites.
Everybody Want What They Don't Got is jamming. I don't think of it as a "Billy Joel" song. It's The Beatles. Billy was influenced by them too.

my faves are everybody want what they dont got(layered vocals are great), traffic jam and go..i love the revolutionary vibe on traffic jam and the background vocals on go which i'm assuming are susannah..
