I've been listening to it on an almost daily basis lately as I'm back with the one true love of my life !!! Yippee !!

There is so much emotion when he sings it. It's the lyrics that speak to me. He may not have written it about me, but he wrote it for me.

This has been my shower song for so many years. It's a great song to (try and) sing while bathing.

This song was written for Vanity. I'm sure.

One of my favorite Prince songs. I ended my wedding with this song, and my friend is going to have it be the first bride/groom dance at his wedding.

Actually, I think someone did ask him who Adore was for at a sound check on the ONA tour and he said it was about Susannah.

Really? See, I was right. I always had a feeling that the song was about Susannah, since the song, "If Eye Was Ur Girlfriend" was supposedly written about her as well.

Many songs are said to be about Susannah and I believe they are.

When Sign O' the Times came out, after all the engagement rumours in ´85/86, I naturally assumed that lovesongs such as Forever In My Life, If I Was Your Girlfriend and Adore were about Susannah.
(Also considering her placement in his thank you notes on the album. "Susannah period" - then everyone else).

Years later people from his innercircle started talking and confirmed that these and many other songs were written about her
And Prince himself has indeed confirmed that he wrote both Adore and Forever In My Life for her.

Writing songs about chicks is fun.

Yeah, we can definitely agree to disagree on this.

P used to answer questions at the sound checks before shows on the ONA tour. Someone at one of the sound checks posted either on here or on AMP (don't remember which) that Prince was asked about Adore and said P said it was about Susannah. I don't think it was an overly personal thing to say, seeing as how he also said Forever in My Life was about her - he answered that on an online chat.
