people always make out like he was only singing about fucking and his
records were full of cuss words.

the only time he really cussed was during the 1993-1995 period. a lot of
his material has a rather agressive drive and the cussing seems to have
been a good fit for some of those songs to emphasize the mood.

dont forget 'all the critics love you from new york' (i think) and 'my name is prince'.
in fact i think there are a fair lot more...however saying fuck isnt what gives his music that edge, its the utter filth he doesnt even need to swear about.
