THINGS HE SHOULD NOT OF DONE........

THERE ARE CERTAIN PROJECTS PRINCE SHOULD OF SAID NO TOO OR NEVER DONE. I THINK THE FOLLOWING BELONG ON SUCH A LIST: 1.BATMAN SOUNDTRACK (BECAUSE LOOK WHAT HAPPENED NEXT), 2.GRAFFITI BRIDGE (FILM AND ALBUM) THE ONLY GOOD NEW SONG WAS THIEVES IN THE TEMPLE, 3.TONY M AND THE OTHER MALE DANCERS, 4.MANI WIFE NO.2 AND WHAT LIST WOULDN'T INCLUDE GOOD OLD LARRY (WOULD YOU LIKE A COPY...) WHAT DO YOU THINK RIGHT OR WRONG?

Give away good material - Yes I know he wanted to take some friends with him, bounce material off them, and accomplish other things by doing that. That doesn't change the fact that much of that material would have been a million times better had he done it. I'm tired of hunting for demos and live stuff just so I can enjoy certain songs. lol

The Carlos Santana inspired collabos - Carlos gets away with it and makes it work because he makes tofu music for tofu suburbanites, and he's got the support of a demo that will buy just about anything as long as it's associated with that demo.

exactly. there are some things that he has done which I like more than others, and maybe a couple of things I don't like at all, but my level of like/dislike has nothing to do with what he "should have done." only Prince knows that, and at the end of the day, yes, we all do exactly what we should be doing.

We all make mistakes.

I think either his co. or his decision to sue / clamp down on his youtube fans was a bad move. If those people were making a profit from their youtube clips then I would understand it (ie like posting - download this prince album for free etc. without Prince and Co's permission) - but many of these people were / are fans of his who have supported him and are sharing their love of him with those youtube tributes.
Other than that issue - nothing major springs to mind - he is IMO one of the most consistantly good artists in the last 100 + years - and in this celebrety tittle-tattle obsessed era - seems to handle his private ish well and with impressive efficiency.

Batman... What's wrong with the Batman album?

I love some of the tracks on there.

What else does the average journalist mention these days besides the fact that he did this?

It's always "the symbol guy!" or "the artist formerly known as a symbol! LOL!"

It took away from his TALENT. Before that he was a force to be reckoned with.
