BEST: chemistry between Prince & Jerome's characters

WORST: chemistry between Prince & Kristin Scott Thomas' characters

Love: "aaaaarrrggghhh! Fascists!", "Are you afraid of bats?" and "You did it to Mary's Mom!!!"

Hate: The fact I cry like a big baby at the end, even though the acting is very cheesy!

I hated Prince's kissing scenes, yes I'm a hater...I could say that about Purple Rain too...I loved his sense of humor. He was just comical throughout...

Ive seen that film exactly 158 times and i love all of it except the death scene

I've been watching this thread since it was created. I think it's a good time to have my say.

Last night, I just saw it for the 9th time and I've seen it half as many times as Purple Rain.

The only thing I really have to complain about is how it ended. I mean, did they have to kill him off? And did it have to be by gunshot? Couldn't he have died because of some terminal illness or something? Would have been a little less painful than the terrible acting.

umm... nevermind. I take that back. Terminal illness would have been even worse.

As for the things I love,
LOVE the music... all of it.
It was great seeing Prince in a comic role where you didn't have always have to let his actions speak for him. He speaks a lot more and his onstage persona takes him all over the place here. Love seeing his personality.

The chemistry between him and Jerome created some of the funniest scenes. My favorite of those is "The Ladder".

The black & white was a brilliant move, but I'd have to see some of those outfits he wore in color. Props to those outfits

One of my all time favorite part in the movie is when Tricky goes "Cuz it's a full moon, I'm a Were Wolf bitch, kiss my ass!"

Then he stomps on the ground, its hilarous. I laugh every time.

I like - "how much money u make?"/buy some cologne! scene and a couple others

I hate the cheesiest parts - airport scene is probably the worst. "The assassination of Joe Cocker" is pretty amusing to me though, if only because of Ken Begg - on that though

It's such a bad good movie.

He wanted to make a light-hearted love movie with reference to the old Charlie Chaplin movies, just a good time without having to think too much.

It worked for me, I endulged everything. From the "giving the eye" thing in the beginning, to the Alexa the Paris part on the boat (?) where Kristen bows him to the ground with dancing and he goes "oooo" and the part where she wants to tell him something and he says something like "did you have to take so much time to think about that", or the stupid grape part "pits!!" or the ladder scene. Garcon, avez vous un crayon? And the end was horrible, bad acting, but the real end made me very sad.

Gosh, I haven't seen the movie for at least 10 years.
In '87 I was the only one at school who loved the movie, I've seen it plenty a times.

I just didn't like the sucking Kristen on her mouth scenes. Or he really didn't like her or he has trouble kissing in front of a camera.

And not forgetting the superb Parade album, the B-sides and especially the extended versions.
Those delicious long albums that made that cracky sound, albums you had to take gently out of the sleeve, I miss those times, really.

I evry single thing about UTCM. All the good things, all the silly things, and all the fun I have watching it....

I haven't watched that movie in about ten years, but, I loved it...I may decide to watch the Las Vegas...DVD tonight....I may, I'm not sure, I've been feeling very strange, with little energy recently...I thought last night in through this morning, that I could be dying, of all things, I've made peace with the world, and all of that, but honestly, when you think you are dying, you really don't want to, it borders between funny and frightening. I reached a frozen point, where I thought I was just gonna shut down. Strange, yet, peaceful. I've been writing in my diary about the experience....I wonder if your hearing is the last to go, what song will be on the radio, as you take your last breath...I know this sounds bizzare, and I pray I am just faint or something, however, If I am going to die, it's going to be here at home, not in a hospital. It's okay, no replies please. I'm a Christian so don't worry of my soul, and I even wrote in my diary, that I loved Prince too. Just in case. I hope I will return. Love U guys.

I loved the story line. I mean, nothing is better than a movie about a whore, especially a male whore.

I hated that it was set in a depressing stuffy looking place like Paris. New York would have looked much more live, hell even Minneapolis.
