I want all the words to Somewhere Here On Earth.
It's so beautiful, but I can't catch all the lyrics.

thank you for posting the stream to the album. I had heard so much negativity about the album I assumed it was going to be one of his garbage albums, but its not a bad ablum. If you are a true prince fan it definitely, should have enough juice to satisfy you. Not a great ablum, but good album and has received some underserving bad comments.

PS
Prince should put out a great ablum every 2 to three years, as opposed to putting out good albums once a year

Prince's music is so varied that I don't believe an entire album will ever satisfy his entire fan base. Some fans only like to hear a certain style of music from Prince and as a result it really doesn't matter if the other songs are great - some fans don't/won't like certain songs simply because that particular style doesn't suit their taste. What amazes me is that after all these years, some fans still think that just because they don't like a certain style of music, they think that a song which Prince creates in that style is automatically a poor quality song. That's just ignorant.

Of course a Prince album has to grow on you. It's not pop candy.

being considered "pop" music and pop candy is two different things. There are lots and lots of great "pop" songs by various artists through the years.

God doesn't just tells me how much he "LOVE's" me, God shows me how much he "LOVE's" me. Both telling and showing "LOVE" means to "LOVE". They go hand in hand. You can't have one with out the other. Something is spoken, then followed by an action. That is

Thanks for posting the link. I gotta say, however, I was, overall, unimpressed with the album. Some good stuff, obviously, but probably the least I've liked a Prince album on first listening.

Maybe it will grow on me, but I probably won't give it the chance.

Planet Earth is wonderful! I'm sooo glad Prince continues to march to his own drummer.
After all these years in the music business, the fact that Prince isn't chasing trends or jumping on bandwagons, but creating music that's unique, and to me at least, incredible, speaks volumes to his talent, pride and self-assuredness.
Most of todays hitmakers who can't sing to save their souls or play nary an instrument and manage to top the charts with a few good beats and lots of studio trickery and gadgets will be long gone in a few years, but Prince will still be going strong. Remember Al B. Sure? Anyone? lol

I hardly ever post here but I have to throw my 2 cents in. I've been a fan for a long long time. The last few albums have left me really disappointed. He sounded flat, bored and uninspired (imo).

PE is a big step back to what made me such a big Prince fan! There's a track or 2 that I could do without but overall this is the best thing he's done over the past few years.

Feels good to get excited about a new Prince album....again.

I've also been a big fan for many years now and to be honest on first listen i wasn't very impressed. "Guitar" and "Mr Goodnight" did grab me but the rest was bland, bland, bland. I do think 3121 is a great album in places with real sparks of his older style (3121 imo sounds just like a 1987 Camille-type track and Te Amo v much like UTCM) but i do feel Planet Earth does sound again like the rest of his late 90's/early 00's albums - soft, forgettable, jazzy background music.
Dont get me wrong i will persevere and keep listening to see if it grows on me - but like i said there was no real earth shattering impact on first listen. Not like I used to get from his 70's and 80's work.

This is a piece of crap, much like most of what he has relased the past 10 years. 3 decent tracks (6 on a scale 1-10): Somewhere Here On Earth, Future Baby Mama and Mr Goodnight. Now on a good album these would have been the weakest tracks as they're nothing special.

Giving this CD away all over the world is what he should have done. One can never have too many coasters.

Thankfully, I never read critiques prior to listening to Prince albums myself. I remember the early criticism of “Sign ‘o the Times,” and I never will believe “those in the know” again.

I like this CD much better than “3121” and about the same as “Mucicology.” And that’s after only listening to it twice.

My favorite tracks . . . right now are:
Future Baby Mama
Planet Earth
Somewhere Here On Earth
Guitar (great follow up song to Planet Earth - smooth flow)
Mr. Goodnight (fun lil’ tune that grows on you)
Resolution
The One U Wanna C
Chelsea Rodgers
Lion of Judah
All the Midnights In The World

Definitely will cop it on Tuesday
Get the funk up!

I already did. It's horrible. Compared to everything he has released in the past 10 years Emancipation was a masterpiece.

I can't believe this is the album that I have been reading about on this site. Maybe its because I had such low expectations after reading what these so-called Prince fans have been saying...but I am completely surprised at how much I am diggin this album. It's SO NOT bland or boring. Somewhere Here on Earth might as well be on Parade. The One U Wanna C sounds like it very well have been part of Dream Factory. I was thinking All The Midnights in the World was gonna be horrible and its one of my faves on the album. Mr Goodnight, by the way, ISN'T a rap song....it's spoken word-Prince style...ala Irresistable Bitch. I have a feeling this one will be a grower for me. Planet Earth, the song, is a mix of Empty Room and Strays of the World...but its still completely original, with killer guitar.

This is why I am coming to this site less and less lately. The negative crap y'all write is just depressing as all hell and actually had me not very excited about this album. Now after hearing the stream...I just went to Amazon and pre-ordered it. PLANET EARTH thumbs up!

clapping I SO agree with you! I have found myself avoiding
the Prince forum a bit lately, because all the negativitely was really
draining my excitement for the album sad

But listening to it now feels so good because its so much better than I expected!!!

I mean the title track is brilliant!,
Guitar is the rock tune I've been itching for,
Somewhere Here on Earth is sounds like a jazzy Smokey Robinson track cloud9
The One U Wanna C is an awesome summer track

UHHH! Im just so excited lol
If you will, so will I
