Perfect sense. The groove is much deeper in the Dance Mix and fits the album better. The album version works as a single/video edit.

The remix sounds like it would fit better on 1999 since it's more electro and funky.

If u are familure with Prince's Extended versions from the 80's.
most were listed as... Ext Dance Mix, Extended Remix, etc....
when most of the so called Special Dance mix ..
were really just edited versions from the album

But im sure someone allredy pointed this out

Mountains is amazing, gets so jazzy toward the end. Feels very organic.
I just heard the extended Thieves for the first time, and while I think it helps the track overall, it feels a bit cluttered.
