[b]And Who here is without sin?The Son of Man was accused of ungodly intent by the religious leaders.Because they were afraid of that which they could not understand.
The great show of power that went beyond the usual laws of nature, were deemed as acts of the devil.
When he told them that he was the chosen one, anointed to save them from themselves. They laughed at him.Mocked him.Spat on him.Made him a crown of thorns and called him MAD>In NO WAY am i comparing PRince to Jesus Christ.I am however comparing the accusations AND the ACCUSERS.

To falsely accuse a man is in itself a sin!Speak with the tongue of a serpent...And that's what U are.
There is No need to fear what you fail to comprehend.Yet fear the one that can destroy BOTh the flesh and the soul.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but there is only one who can Judge.
So what good is it to revisit, what was,is,was not or is not?If it is unclean.None.You will only unleash your OWN "DEMONS".
Even if he were to tell you himself that any of what you're saying is true and in the same breath tell you that he has bent his knee and asked for forgiveness.Would you still love him?Would you forgive him so that you may be forgiven?
Well you should love him.As your neighbor,as your friend,as your brother, and as yourself!
If you love someone the greatest gift that you can give them is prayer.
And if you are S0 concerned about his spiritual struggles. Then pray for him. That he has immersed himself in the water and all uncleansiness is washed away.Die to sin, rise to new life.

"LET HIM WHO DOES WRONG,CONTINUE TO DO WRONG.LET HIM WHO IS VILE,CONTINUE TO BE VILE.LET HIM WHO DOES RIGHT,CONTINUE TO DO RIGHT.AND HIM WHO IS HOLY,CONTINUE TO BE HOLY"
He is coming.Reward in hand.Just worry if when he comes will you be worthy of receiving.Or will he HIDE his FACE from YOU!

I Love You,Peace=Longevity

I believe we can prove Prince is evil through a simple mathematical formula.

Take Prince as "p" and evil as "e"

Furthermore, take Prince's good deeds as being inversely proportional to Prince's evil deeds. If evil deeds are "k" good deeds are thus "1/k"

Therefore: p = 1/k(e^kp)

If we differentiate this to work our the rate of evil/good that Prince is performing at any one time we get the following:

dp/de = pe^kp

We can also assume that Prince is only ever one entity, as he is only one person. Thus p=1

Therefore the differential equation becomes:

dp/de = e^k

Thus "1/k" and, therefore, good deeds, have been removed from the equation. Thus, Prince is only ever performing evil at any one time, therefore Prince can only ever be evil.

Therefore Prince is evil, and the rate of his evilness is variable through k; he can thus only ever be evil, but sometimes more evil than other times.

One thing that I've always admired and respected about P, as a musician, vocalist and songwriter, is his adept abitlity to play authentic gospel. This is an element that is very often largely overlooked on this site. Again, what is interesting is the period P decided to do gospel sounding songs. 1981. Theecond Coming, which opened up his Controversy tour, was his really his first take on a gospel vibe, soundwise, yet it was an accapella. But with "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore", the b-side to the 1999 single in 82, soundwise, is STRAIGHT gospel. His gift for some of the best, o.g., gospel vocalisms are pure and agian, authentic. He incorporated many gospel stylings in his vocals on the 1999 album. "International Lover", especially after one of the best screams ever dome by a human towards the end of the song with less than a minute left, is ALL gospel. He uses it in Delirious. The music and vocal to that is old school gospel. NOT rockabily, which it is usually credited to. The fact that his 1999 album has the most screams on one album, more than he has ever included, before or since, is connected directly to gospel. Gospel singers and artists, the old school groups especially, were known and all employed screams in the singing. P was the only pop artist to actually incorporate that into his sound. And he did it so naturally. Even the last chrouses of the song 1999, when everyone has joined in on the repeat word "Party", P's adlibings in between that is very gospel influenced. From that point of the song towards the end, is basically an uptempo gospel song, in sound. Of course, what makes all of this different from authentic gospel, is of course, P's lyrics and subject matter. But with songs like GOD, from 84, it's gospel. His grand sense of this take of music and his mixture of other things that were much more darker and had sinister overtones, it was THIS combination during 81-85, that made him draw so much attention to what he was doing.

Ahem..y'all ready for this...(a bit looong pardonnez moi)

I'd respond that Prince is a human being and from the standpoint of the Christian faith he's a dichotomy of good and evil, the fight between the flesh and the spirit. As an artist, well, Bono has stated that sometimes the fire you're playing with can consume and destroy you.

But what's interesting is that time 1980-1984 in Prince's career..and should be explored further..1984 I was in 4th grade at the time, my only recollection was the shocking sexual lyrics, then the powerful music, unlike anything people had heard before, the energy, the imagery, this new medium MTV blowing everything in people's faces. It was a very exciting time, nothing like the media oversaturation now. In his new bio, Alice Cooper (a Christian) stated he didn't believe people can be shocked today.

I wasn't a big Prince fan then or years later, it seemed all perversity to me and the media's potrayal. 90's I started getting into the music, then seeing and hearing him say "Let the Lord Jesus Christ guide you to the Purple Rain". WHAT???? Why did I never hear about this growing up? So there's been inspirations. At the same time, there has been blasphemy, confusion in his writings, the same things other people are writing on this thread. How many artists on their biggest world tour to date (Purple Rain) have a whole segment on stage conversing with God? It was similar with the Lovesexy tour. Perhaps it was showcasing man's inner plight. But I believe alot of it was his own internal confusion. I attribute much of Prince's cursing, no holds barred shock at the time to immaturity and lack of parenting. He's stated he didn't have a childhood. Now imagine being one of the biggest pop icons in the world with all the money, power, fame. Uh..yeah, I think some issues are gonna pop up!

I'm not as familiar with the pre-Purple Rain imagery but yeah he looks possessed by something. The level of manical energy and fervor in the perfomances, music, there are signs of emotional turmoil. In the song AUTOMATIC you can hear moans of women in pain, in LADY CAB DRIVER, sounds like a pseudo-rape. I'd say he was having severe issues with women, love, lust. 1999 was a cool album with the longer grooves, no under 3 minute pop radio format, but with the spoken mantra's and comments it was more like a audio-diary psych confessional. H e was living these songs.

Blackguitarist and others..I'm curious to know the occult references he mentioned during that time?

I realize many people reading are getting freaked out. This is foreign to you or just friggin crazy. It's important to note what THREADBARE stated, for a long time Prince's mantra was "Do what ever you want, enjoy life's pleasures, celebrate, as long as nobody gets hurt." That is indeed the main tenant of the church of satan. It's been the main tenant for rock and roll stars. It doesn't necessarily have to do with ritual's, sacrifices, or scary robes or horror flicks or things that scare you. In fact, there are people who call themselves satanists who could care less about satan, rituals, teachings, God. It's all about full out debauchery. Listening to Prince's early work, it's a call for societal anarchy, rebellion, and guilt-free freedom. Personally I believe in rebellion..I believe we need more rebels...but not against morality.

It's important to note as well, dear readers, assume nothing with the media's marketing machine and all that looks beautiful and wonderous. Sammy Davis Jr. and Jane Mansfield were involved in the church of satan. That's fact. Do the research. Eddie Murphy is a great family movie entertainer when not picking up transvestites. Do the research. I'm just throwning things out there -- again assume nothing with celebrity appearances, reviews, everything -- could be a lie. Hollywood is built on kissing ass... You criticize, question, guess what? You're out, no more access. Circles within circles.

Early on in Prince's career he stated there will always be hidden messages in his work. We see it today with symbology of 3121. I really don't see the 1999 album upside down saying 1 666 evil.. I just see the v. There is a crescent c (moon?) tilted with stars, if the stars were higher and it was inverted it would be a witchcraft symbol, it's not. I see a phallic symbol, and drawings inside the lettering that have some meanings..a ladder rising up, etc. I'm curious if Prince drew this as there's no attribution. Purple I thought was symbolic of judgement day.

In the 80's there was just a complete artistic rebellion in the form of using satanic symbols, the rock bands thought it was cool, anti-establishment; it pissed-off parents, resulted in alot of paranoia, culminating in the Geraldo tv expose which had everybody freaked out. Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, etc, using imagery, lyrics to shock. Motley Crue as well, though their bassisst Nikki Sixx was involved in a satanic cult for a short period. Kerry King of Slayer claims the music is just to piss of Christians he has no cultish inclination, Duran Duran's SEVEN AND THE RAGGED TIGER album, back cover, the symbol of sulfer is a satanic symbol. Blue Oyster Cult used an inverted cross with a question mark. Journey's work is covered with the scarab, possibly representative in Egyptology of the god Khepri. It goes on and on. Consciously, or unconsciously, with purpose or accident, it's out there.

Backmasking..I've heard Led Zeppelin's Stairway.., Queen's Another One Bite's the Dust.. It sounded like garbled gook. I believe with the power of suggestion people can hear what they've read; if I heard something clearly and concise I 'd believe something was consciously done.

I'm not letting off Led Zeppelin however, or more specifically, Jimmy Page, the founder, producer. His overt symbology in on the 1970 release of Led Zep 3, when he scrawled into the wax on the initial records "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law" (sound familiar people) a quote from his idol, Aleister Crowley. Crowley also in one of the windows on the cover of their PHYSICAL GRAFFITI album. The front cover of Led Zep 4 is believed to be the hermit of the tarot.

The "do what thou wilt" belief has historically been in rock music. Aleister Crowley was a turn of the century British eccentric who called himself the beast, did sex magick, child sacrifice, a satanist, he was kicked off the island of Sicily for some foul things which I shall not mention, all the while being praised by his friend L. Ron Hubbard, who later became the founder of the so-called religion where spaceships landed in the earth's volcanoes, blowing up and causing human faults, in which Tom Cruise and John Travolta have paid thousands to reach the oracle and become demi-gods, Scientology (yeah it's sad, I enjoy their acting too).

Another one of Crowley's followers, Kenneth Anger, created a film called Lucifer Rising, which had Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones involved (the influence for Their Satanic Majesties Request) at one point Jimmy Page, and finally settled on music from one of Charles Manson's associates, Bobby Beausoleil, in prison for murder. Crowley's picture is on the cover of the Beatles, SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND, one of John Lennon's heros. The Doors, 13 album, the back cover shows the group surrounded by a bust of Crowley as Jim Morrisson, was involved in the occult.

Just exposing here a thread that weaves on and on, you have to question why are these people associating with such filth? It's sex drugs rock n roll and let's not forget the final, DEATH...followers of people like Anton Lavey aren't all musicians like Marilyn Manson though.....historically there are scientists, writers, it goes into ufology, etc, on and on.....blah blah blah. So that's some of what is documented out there, who else knows what isn't???

In conclusion the theme of "do whatever you want" is in Prince's work, what the fame, money, power opened up to him, how deep into dark inspirations he was, the internal struggle... who knows?

For people disturbed by what you've read, concerned about the deceit and lies around you, worried for your little one's in this world, or being exposed to evil, some thoughts, some hope:

It's time for a new life order
The world we know around us has died
It's time to enter a new realm
To follow the Son of the Most High

Don't bother trying to live here
Don't bother trying to fit in
We're part of the same body
The One who rose again

--VICTORY PARK

Relax. Calm your mind. Rest easy. The work has been done. God's victory over the world has already been complete. And:

"Every child of God is able to defeat the world. And we win the victory over the world by means of our faith."
1 JOHN 5:4

All the confusion, deceptions, deceit, don't add up to a hill a beans cause Jesus Christ defeated death by rising from the dead.

Very interesting take. I don't know if there was such a heavy gospel influence to Prince's early 80s sound, but there definitely was an emergence of spiritual language and themes. "Controversy" featured the first mention of God, a recitation of the Lord's prayer, the first appearance of a Devil character in Annie Christian, and later there was De-Elevator and Spooky Electric. Worth mentioning is how the Devil earns a unique moniker on "Purple Rain" and "Lovesexy," two records where Prince's messiah complex was at a fever pitch. Throughout the 80s he kept his morality play vaguely monotheistic, more Old Testament than the Gospels, and it's not until Lovesexy's Anna Stesia that he invokes the name of Jesus.

If God, the Devil, and Jesus are, as Freud suggested, moral constructs that reflect our family drama, and more specifically the turbulent relationship between father and son, Controversy was the moment Prince acknowledged the Father, Purple Rain the emergence of the Son, and Lovesexy the ultimate and unequivocal statement of filial devotion-"You R my God, I am your Child, from now on 4 U I shall be wild/I shall be quick, I shall be strong/I'll tell your story no matter how long." The Devil, under this reading, is the desire to be free from one's biological heritage, to deliberately disobey and dishonor the parent--the truancy of the prodigal son unfettered by duty. Lovesexy was Prince's attempt to cast out the disobedient impulse (which, I think, was the very energy that broke down boundaries and gave his work its transcendent power). Post-Lovesexy, he continued to deny his wayward impulses in his music, but they still manifested in his (un)professional behavior toward his corporate daddy, Warner Brothers.

One thing I wanted to get across is all of this flip out shit from most of the orgers. Keep your drawers and panties on, please. Ya'll don't have no more confidence in in your OWN thoughts than that? This running to Prince's defense is what's sad. Like YOU yourself is being attacked. This is a public forum. Everybody's not going to be totally on P's dick like some other's. Everybody's not going to worship P like u do. Where P is ABOVE human and he can't do or will he ever do ANY wrong. That's bullshit. P is a brother that guaranteed, if he doesn't wipe hiss ass after he takes a shit, u know what? His ass is GONNA stank. Just like yours and mine will. There is probably no one on this site that has more respect for P as an atrist and performer than me. I've been into P since 1978, since I was very young. He has influenced me as a musician, a songwriter and performer, more than many other artists. Simply put, I've learned a lot from Prince, as an artist. especially in the 80's. No more so than I have Hendrix, Parliament/Funkadelic, Bowie, The Beatles, Zepp. THOSE are some of my major influences. I will never deny that because I don't feel I have to. But, that doesn't make me blind to the shit that P HAS done in the past. Images, sound or visual or both, that he has used, for whatever the reason, has been put out there to be asked about. To speculate on. Some of ya'll act like that u must come riding in on some white horse to save this poor little helpless Prince...please ya'll. Prince is one of the most self reliant, hardest, streetwise brothers in the biz. P is old school, ya'll. An element that many of u don't see. Largely because many of u don't want to see P as a true brother in the first place. Many of you all prove that all the time on here. But that's a whole different topic. My point dealing with this evil thing; To sit up here and pretend to NOT notice the shit that P himself has "flirted with" in the past is supremely ass kising in the highest order and I don't ass kiss NO ONE. I give credit where credit is due, but I'm not blinded by idol worship. Opinions are just that. period. I never once stated that I KNOW P is evil. You know why? Cuz I don't know. I've just commented on shit that P has done for all to see. My speculation on it is just that. My take. How it SEEMS to me. If ya'll say something different, then right on for u. But the flipping out, coming to his defense shit is a bit much. Prince doesn't need u to come to his defense. P is a seriously grown man and has been. He does what he wants to and will continue as long as the bread is there. If P was ever worried about what folks thought, we wouldn't even be on this site, cuz there would be no artist named Prince. So please, knock off with this "Oh, ya'll attacking MY Prince! How dare u?! I'll beat u up if u touch MY Prince!" The cold part about it is Prince himself would look at u like ..."bitch,...please.".

I'm not one of those people that you are complaining about am I? Because, if I am, I can tell you one thing about the man that you I bet you already know and that is this: "Prince" can be a bitch! "Prince" is the bitchiest bitch of all bitches! You wanna know something else about that bitch, though? He is one hell of a man, I'll tell you that! Not only is that bitch one hell of man, but, he's also one hell of an artist, too! Ain't no lying about that. The thing about "Prince", though, is that he is an artist in more ways than one! He's a musical artist "AND" con artist! So, he can be quite deceiving. The thing about his deception, though, is through it all, it was a chain of misleading events. "Prince" was consciously misleading his gullible fans toward a path that, even himself had no idea that he was heading through. I still have the guilty-as-charged mind state that "Prince's Spiritual/Non-Dogmatic/Barely-Religious/Secular Views" had often been magnetized toward, formerly, back in the '80's. However, that does mean that I feel like "Prince" don't smell his own shit (I mean, he'd better, because I sho''nuff do)! wink

I wrote some really fly stuff BUT because Prince is evil...he took my comments away lol

its some stuff to think about. I see this as a man's inner struggle and sometimes allowing one side to be the victor over the other. I can't hold the 49 year old Prince to what that 25 year was thinking and believing but it is very interesting nonetheless. To write some of his words without conviction is a little like eek

His journey is still ongoing as is my own. There is a reason beyond just his religious awakening to why he wants to leave that music in the past.

Very interesting topic and I'm surpised that LUV hasn't moved it to P&R just yet. lol
