Fury or Electric Chair on SNL

Which of these two excellent performances do you prefer most and why?

For me it's Electric Chair. I like the song better and i like the "routine" the band does during the performance

I like the song Fury live better.

But Prince flinging his gorgeous hair, his shiny shirt, shaking his hips, and workin' it like a hooker in Bejing just can't be beat. Electric Chair it is thumbs up!

I have to say Electric Chair! I can't tell you why, but that's my answer, and I'm sticking to it.

F U R Y is a much better crafted song, and songs are what win me over.

Electric chair can only be held together with a lot of theatrics.

and workin' it like a hooker in Bejing just can't be beat. Electric Chair it is :thumbsup

okaaay, that's a new one for me, "like a hooker in Bejing", (whatever that means)

didn't see the Party Up performance. but considering that era, the band and what Prince was trying to communicate with that album and song, that sounds like it would be a KILLER performance. i need to see that one!

i disagree Rightly that "Electric Chair can only be held together with theatrics", i think it's equally well crafted musically and lyrically as Fury

Electric Chair KICKS from the opening drums all the way til the end. It's lyrically infectious, great hook.

"i saw your friend first, that's who i danced with, all the time i was watching you." - that's such a Princely lyric

Fury. I just don't like Electric Chair as a song. Although, the visuals were cool.

I love the Electric Chair performance and at the time it had me going ga-ga but in the end Fury was a better performance IMO cause it was such a shocking guitar God like performance that had so many people talking about it the next day

Oh and Party Up was a shocker of its day too! Love how he stormed off the stage at the end - brilliant!

SNL Performance Ratings
Party Up 7.5
Electric Chair 8
Fury 9.5
The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Remember there is only one destination and that place is U
