launching into a detailed and lengthy description and/or discussion of any Prince song, album or movie with a non-fan can make you feel quite good as well. (unless of course, they fall asleep!) lol lol

...I'll add to that:

*if you've made damn near every significant other you've had watch the other two movies he did that they weren't aware of...and try to justify them as the movie goes along (unless of course, they've fallen asleep!)lol lol

* after a whle, you start to feel like you can read Prince's mind while listening to his work.

*you start classifying his songs based on what kind of mood he was in

*you can imagine which songs basically wrote themselves in Prince's eyes (or ears)

Yes, he must live, LIVE I say!!! lol lol The crease will make it easier for a drunk person to dance with him! eek as long as no one lays him down and tries to hump him of course wink lol

That's it, G!
I'm gonna have to rethink your invitation! lol

U stay away from my Prince cutout!

Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

Here are my two biggies... boxed

I automatically think of the album released in any year that I hear mentioned -- in any context, no matter how random. For example, If a used car salesman said to me, "This '87 Ford is in excellent condition," I'd reflexively think to myself, "Sign O' The Times."

The other thing I find myself doing is twisting my ring around my finger with my non-ring-wearing hand. You might have noticed that Prince has a habit of doing this. One day I realized that without even thinking about it my left hand was spinning the ring on my right hand -- just like I've noticed Prince does (but with the opposite hands, I believe). lol Now it's become a total habit.

Peace.

*you listen to a song once and refuse to listen to it again because you don't agree with the message it sends ("My Name is Prince")

I'm gonna take back what I said b4... i just had to decompress & smooth things over

*even though you've only heard a song once or twice, u find yourself singing along already cuz its THAT catchy (17 days & All Day, All Night, 4 me just now)

*You love it when other songs reference him like Eminem's Without Me and Missy Elliott's Work It.

ill try to revive this thread.

* you try to base your collection of albums on getting to know Prince as a person rather than getting it for great music
* you enjoy songs more when you have more personal connection with Prince
* you try to rotate your albums if at all possibility to keep your favorites from getting too old too fast.

I do that a bit. Or I do the opposite and listen to a song way too much then start to hate it. I got REALLY sick of Little Red Corvette a few months ago so I took it off my iPod for about 3 months. Put it back on the other night and it was phenomenal again. woot!

Awsome Thread....

...You save all your Prince concert and movie ticket stubs
...You look at the clock and see if it's 2:45 or 2:49
...You have unopened cd's and cassets...just in case
...You overhear your cousin tell his new girlfriend to never ever say anything negative about Prince in front of you.
What am I supposed 2 do when the President can't get nothin' passed?

*you freak whenever someone parodies or makes fun of Prince

I was watching 'Scary Movie' last night because I wanted to see Carmen Electra die in the beginning (and I haven't seen the movie in years)...

then she says "well my b/f's coming and he's black and he'll kick your ass"

and the guy's like "you mean that one that wears lipstick and sings like a girl"

then they shed a light on this white guy tied in a chair, wearing a suit Prince might have worn during the D&P era and the prince was on the the suit.

She's like "that's not my b/f"... then he screams like Prince does in his songs...

I royally flipped out and had a bad feeling in my gut for a while. I can't stand it when they parody Prince like that... just because he's different makes him an easy target... just isn't right, man (come to think of it, though, when did Prince date her and he wasn't even known as Prince when the movie was made)

I accept no substitutes... but then again, SNL did a decent job with "The Prince Show"... so I don't mind that at all

That was one of the tamer parodies I've seen over the years, Dreamypop.

Early 90's, I think.
