Thanks Cole for the article! Very nice. I like keeping up with Manuela's career. She's one of my MySpace friends, and she has always been nice to me. She's a very interesting person outside of Prince.

Go away Mani! Please!

First you filled the NPGMC shop with crap - No space left for music when it's full of lilac-scented baby-gros.
Now P is stalling round Vegas, waiting for the divorce to be finalised before he can tour and make serious dollars.

We're bored and need new music and touring.
Sign the papers and make something happen around here.
If I see a thread called "Is Prince better than yo mama?", I'm blaming you.

Minnesota is a community property state. Unless he had a prenup agreement she gets half of everything.

He demolished the house in 2003, isn't that where hid Dad lived until he died?

The question is if they every made the marriage official.

I used to wonder this as well, but when you hire an attorney to absolve a contract that was never entered, well that makes no sense.

What atty would accept a divorce case when there is no officiating marriage certificate???

It is most likely they were legally married.

somehow i feel he was naive into not doing a prenup. boy is this gonna cost him.

Maybe there was a prenup. Just because you have one doesn't mean that someone might challenge the legality of an aggreement in the face of divorce.

yes.. I said that in another thread here weeks ago.. that Manuela probably would have gotten that house in MN.. and he knew it too.. so he just went ahead .. tore it down .. and when she's finished from going after his other assets (in Cali) .. i agree 2 he just may return to MN ..
[Edited 4/11/07 10:37am]

I am not questioning if this was Prince's reason for tearing down the house, but I question the wisdom, half of something is better than all of nothing.
confused

Yes, y'all were!! It's my turn!! razz

Prince, build a house in Detroit! We have wonderful suburbs. Just ask Eminem, Kid Rock, or Aretha Franklin. I'm sure they'll be glad to hip you to the prime real estate. cool

Hey that is what Michigan needs! Maybe people will want to stay here and some will even want to visit. razz

It is kind of interesting that this topic came up again. San Jose News just did an interview with Mani and it is date 4/08/07. Mani of course was talking about her company and she mentioned that she wished that everyone would stop mentioning Prince when it came to her businesses because she succeeded on her own. She also mentioned that she still lives in MN parttime. So I wonder if the house is still standing and if she did in fact get his house in MN if she is still living in MN part time not that she couldn't have her own place. I could copy and paste the article if anyone wants to see it. The arthor also mentioned that she was not nasty about anything when referring to Prince. I paraphrased some of this.

Is her "business" a SUCCESS??

I am sorry, to me, her incense business will be about as "successful" as NPGM store selling candles, perfume and incense... only people interested in Prince will even bother to buy.
In Mani's case, she won't even have Prince's fans to help drum up business because of the pending divorce.

She can lie to everybody else, but she can't lie to herself.

Prince's money was quite instrumental to the "progression" of her professional
success in whatever the hell she is doing...

Gee, Mani- I hope you don't burn up on re-entry.....

It's funny because a friend of mine went to a service project event Manuela held recently for In Perfect World and he said there was a whole lotta Prince fans there that he's seen at Prince concerts. It's good to know though it was for a good cause.
