Does Any Other Artist Have Such an Array of Proteges?

Was just wondering if any other artist besides Prince has such a vast array of proteges or associated artists that their fan base "follows and supports?"

Prince's protege's were really side projects consisting of "guest" vocals added to fully produced songs. There was almost never any other input into the songs besides the vocals by the album's "star".

Of course folks did branch out on their own, with their own producers after leaving the fold.

The scale of Prince's protege empire really is unprecedented.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
