How is this a big deal? He was selling so very few copies before it's not really hard to increase by big amounts. I mean it's not as if he is going to enter the billboard charts or anything.
On the other hand I noticed 3121 was checked out for the first time from my library. I go to the library 3 times a week and it had never moved which always makes me laugh but as of yesterday it was gone. | |

[b][i] i think some people think our man was "selling out" by appearing at the super bowl and in some of the other arenas in which he chose to appear....i choose to believe that he realized that by reminding some of his former fans and introducing himself to some newer ones, all would be reminded of his talent and greatness, and seek out the new work which we all know and love....this can only be a good thing for all of us who love prince and his music in all of its incarnations....i felt so proud of his performance, and i was thrilled when my date for the evening (a 45-year old man) asked if i had "purple rain" in my library, as he had never seen the film....i gave him the sarcastic glare to indicate "of course i have "purple rain", you troll, i am a prince fanatic"....so we watched the film, and i saw him see the light, and now he is interested in listening to my entire library of prince cds and dvds.....and this is what i hoped for....a whole new gang of rainbow children sprouting up from the superbowl purple rain.....god bless you, prince!! you own my heart and mind....i truly adore u!!!! I really don't think sales are a byproduct for Mr. Prince "numbeR one at the bank" Nelson. i feel that sales do indeed come from his love for music. don't 4get what Prince said, more-or-less, "when we all realize that music is a gift from God and that all music comes from God, then we will be in the Golden Age." Prince, in my opinion, would be playing music, whether he received or did not receive monetary compensation from it. the money just comes as it is the nrg transferred in this day and age for folks "buying" the music. Give everything to God. See God in everything. Prince just happens to have more than a million dollars in the bank for sharing the gift of music. I'm glad to see Prince getting noticed for what he does best, instead of some attention getting stunt; such as changing your name to a symbol, writing slave on your face, or mocking the We are the world song. It looks like Prince is growing up, and is learning how to be King! | |

i watched the superbowl performance on youtube-am in the uk. it was good-well better than good! i have to say that i bought the b-sides today-3cds altogether though not as a result of watching the superbowl. i only paid £9 and as a student, the pennies are limited! am quite new to this forum and have been a fan since about 2001. hello to you all! | |
