I believe he's tryin to say she was freakin weird but she was cool because she was unique and weird. Come on let's hear your take. Doves actually represent Peace.. when doves cry means when there is no Peace when things go wrong between lovers.. this is what it sounds like when doves cry. Prince has always said the meaning is there if you look for it.We can sit all day and discuss them and argue the point, but all we will find is we all find something different that he tried to express."Purple Rain" is about facing your problems and fears in life,looking for solace in those around you instead isolating yourself in self pity and doubt.You always find people running away from the rain, but it's only water,so why the panic? I'd like to point out a couple of things here. Does anyone know what the lyrics actually mean? I know you would want to say prince. But might Prince not even truly know? Let us examine this. I assume, people write songs about what's going on in life, around them, maybe within their mind. But does that mean that the song is truly about what was going on around the artist that pened it? I'd have to say the answer is no. How could such a thing be? Several ways in layers. Let us examin Purple Rain, the song. "The Pop Hit" was so because it struck a cord in the souls of many listeners. That uniphied vibration within several people, prehaps on diffrent notes, to make a harmony or at least a power cord within the psychies of a cross second of mankind. Might this group association unconscious thought it might be hold the true meaning to the song? What about Prince himself? Do you assume his true knowledge and meaning of the words written? I'd like to point out that at any one time a single word can have several meanings. Moreover... I could go on and on, god knows, but... News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
