wave I love it too!!!

Great CD...definitely in my top 5 90's albums. I don't care if its a contractual obligation, whatever the hell that means. Its great music. When The Lights Go Down is one of the coolest & underrated Prince songs EVER!

5 Women did it for me. That song alone was worth the cost of the CD.

Funny you should mention it. I've been listening to it recently. As a collection of songs, they all go well together. The album has an NPG Hornz vibe that I like. It's a good collection. biggrin

JaneyPoos used to be it... then they changed what it was. Now what I am isn't it and what is it is strange and frightening to me...

I liked She Spoke To Me(the jazz outro), Old Friends For Sale but I love When The Lights Go Down(it became one of my all time Prince favorites).

great CD. I remember around the time it was released, Prince had some nasty comments about it on his site saying it was a contract filler or something like that, but it actually turned out to be a great compilation.

I first heard The Vault after a friend let me use it, I didn't like it then, but when I bought my own copy and played it a few times I grew to love it. I love She Spoke 2 Me, I love that jazz breakdown towards the end of the song. My favorite track would have to be When The Lights Go Down. It's such a relaxing song, very smooth.

And even though the songs from this album come from different periods, they seem to have a unity about them, but anyway, The Vault is a good record.

Ditto, I didn't even know that track existed till it showed up on this album.

Okay, I know everybody is saying this, bt its such a rare thing on the org, so I would like to add my appreciation for "When the lights go down" and for the whole album.
It is true that the songs fit nicely together, and I even like that song, that people on here likes to dislike: My little pill.
All in all I like the album's blue jazzy feel...

I love the lyrics to 5 Women. ...Old Friends for Sale is heartbreaking. ...When the Lights Go Down is my fave from the Vault as well.

I bought it at used record store about 6 months back. I was pleasently suprized. I've not listened to it since. I am not buying Prince at used record stores no more, because it's too hard going through the hundreds of copies of 3121 to find an album I've yet to pick up.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

ditto, I truly love The Vault. It's suprising 2 see eveyone likes this cd. Prince has so many wonderful songs that hes recorded in his lifetime for us 2 sit back and enjoy, and yet u hear people complaining about his output and how he has lost it. Hell, this man has so much 2 choose from and the Vault is a perfect example wink
