And Susannah was in the picture all the way through Parade, no? She was my pick without even looking at the choices . . . .I can always go back and listen to those songs over and over but I can't say the same for Emancipation. Emancipation gets love too, but only every once in a while . . .

The music he wrote when he was with Mayte was syrup-y cutesy frou frou shit.

Vanity was the best. I have no idea which songs she inspired but when he was banging her out, he was banging out the best music of his career.

Wonderful Ass was supposedly about Vanity.....

I'm a big fan of Vanity, and Doves is my favorite song of all time. But I have to go with Susannah, If I was Your Girlfriend and The Beautiful Ones are pretty powerful. + I think Adore and Girls and Boys were inspired by Ms. Melvoin. Am I correct?

wow....that's not at all how I look at it. Sure giving birth is no picnic but...It's a gift and a privilege I would NEVER give up. And the absolute LOVE of and from that child makes "shit-filled diapers" a mute point, it's very shocking you would even say such a thing. confuse
and my personal opinion is you can (and should) have your child out of diapers by 3 years old.

THANK YOU SHORTY biggrin

I have three children and while it was not a pleasure cruise bringing them into the world, it's an experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. And it's the love that I feel for them that makes a song like that sing to my soul. Not to mention even if I had no children, and a man that I was in truely in love with wrote that for me, I would still feel the same way.

Susannah Melvoin for sure. If I was your girlfriend is one of the most interesting songs I've EVER heard.

Also though the songs written for Mayte were totally about love..I wouldn't know what to do if a man wrote a song like "Let's have a baby" about me and sincerly ment it.
