Prince, no more pop albums! See, Prince, going pop won't make you a big hit either. Can't you get this through your big head, todays pop audience doesn't like you or your music. You are 48 years old, Prince, you should mature your sound, be more like Stevie, concentrate on the music; let the style councils stay in their MTV dogpatch. You will always do well on tour, stick with that. And make albums that are rich in art and deft, powerful songcraft. No more hit singles and apeing newer artists. You are above that. Be the Prince we used to love. Please!! All you others say Hell Yea!!  | |

While I am honestly in no position to tell P what he should and should not do I can honestly say I don't want another album like 3121 save The Word and Get On The Boat. I've never been one to say "he should do this or that." but I'm just hoping next cd he's not writing songs like "Incense and Candles", "Fury" and "The Dance". | |

r u serious? all this "stop hatin Prince is the greatest" rhetoric is really tired. this thread is about music. nobody is hating on Prince, people are just expressing their opinions that they are entitled to. If you disagree and think everything P does then cool but if 2freaky doesn't that doesn't mean he's hating. Wanna know what I really hate? That the term "hatin" is being used to describe anyone who says they don't like a certain song, look, dance move, protege, Prince does. It used to be cute you know, the lack of vernacular, but now its a tired cliche. Is Prince hating on his ownself because he won't perform songs with curses anymore? It's something he used to do and now he doesn't like it anymore. P stop hatin on yourself and cuss like u did before!! I love P but that doesn't mean I truly believe anyone who states they don't like one of his songs, albums, or outfits are hating on him. It's their opinion and they can feel what they want and so can I. If you will buy anything he puts out just because it's Prince to me that's laughable but to each his own. However most consumers don't like to spend their money on anything they aren't sure they are going to get some use out of, music included. There are some people who will buy an album just because it's a Prince album and if they take it home and play it and they don't like it they will still sing it's praises because they are afraid to come on here and say "I didn't like it". There are some people who have no idea why they like 3121 other than the fact that Prince made it. I love P and I believe in my heart he is the best artist off all times, I truly do but that doesn't mean he can just fart on a record and I'm gonna buy it cause it says Prince. I would love to hear some latin jazz from Prince...a whole CD of experimental stuff featuring his muse, Sheila E.
Or some swing jazz with vocals ala Hole in My Heart by Van Hunt or Strollin'/U Want Me from Aladdin. Or some weirded out FUNK...extra nastiness.  Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind. | |

I want Prince to make whatever album he wants to make. Good or bad, it'll be interesting. But with that said, if the next 5 albums can have material on there like Black Sweat, Love, Lolita and/or The Word on it, then I'll be grinning from ear to ear for a long time. Have a few songs on it that will be pumping on the dancefloor. That's all I want.  I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |
