I'm not even a big fan of Pince doing "Kiss" live (I love the studio version) so I really wasn't into her version. It was cool that someone atleast attempted Prince song though. That was the first time, right?

It sounded like she was singing Tom Jones's cover version rather than Prince's original version to me.

Thats what got her booted.. not a very good version.. but good for her for trying.

That performance was awful...truly awful.

How in the world could you call it great?

MJ was a brilliant singer/dancer...best of all time, however, that's all he was. Let's not compare him to Prince, best musician of all time, but rather, compare him to someone like Sammy Davis Jr (who I don't hear anyone calling a musical genius).

What I really meant was....it was great to see someone sing a Prince tune give salute to the legend....that's all. Paris is a great singer, she might not have done as well as I would have liked with the song but she is a cold blooded singer.

Singing the song did not get her booted of the show. She has been in the bottom 3 for a month.

Have a great day…..Peace

I enjoyed her performance of the song-- she had it down tight.

But she faked them out with it-- she was supposed to choose a song from her year of birth, which was 1988. "Kiss" came out and hit #1 in 1986.

Tom Jones recorded it in '88 so they (AI) said it was ok to sing it. I was thinking the same thing and than I read about it in the MPLS paper about Tom Jones version.
