3121 is out for a few weeks,we can be objective now. When i heard the cd for the first time i thought it was great. The second time i thought it was ok. The third time some songs start 2 bore me but some songs are good.

So does that mean that 3121 is the best James Brown cd from this century?

Artists borrow from each other and Prince does so as much or probably more then anyone else.

If had been Prince that released "The Love Below", people would not have appreciated it as much.

For Andre 3000, "The Love Below" was him stretching himself. For Prince, it would have been seen as repetition of his past.

People were impressed that a rapper could sound like that, so it seemed "new." If it was Prince, it would have been just another day at the office.

Probably, but it was the feeling i got when i heard "the love below" today. I like it more then 3121. Dont get me wrong, 3121 is not a bad cd but its not a great one either.

I hear you, but 3121 and The Love Below are two different albums with different intentions. If Prince did The Love Below I think it would hit you different even if it sounded the same.

Sorry,I would have to disagree with you on this topic but you have a right to your opinion even if I think that is absolutely wrong.Andre's got a good cd but it is nowhere as good as 3121. This is one of the funkiest and diverse records that I have heard in quite awhile. I hadn't heard the other version of the Dance so I just love this song and Love( I repeat that thrice everytime it is played like DMSR) and BS. Andre - good Prince - GREAT!!!

Its not really the music but the lyrics. Andre is still searching, the love and lust thing that Prince had in the 80ties. Prince seems 2 be sure these days. There is no doubt in his lyrics anymore. And thats good for him, i wish him all the luck in the world. But i find an artist better when he/she is still searching. I guess i can relay 2 it more.

rolleyes They are both their own CD. TLB is NOT a Prince album. Period
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I haven't listened to that for at least a year. The replay value in that isn't that great either believe it or not.

yeah ok and roses really smell like doo doo. Come on there have been so many albumns better than the LoveBelow. It was a tremendous effort but it was Andre's Controversy an uneven mess with a couple of truly genius songs. Dres got a way to go

It is true. He has set the standard so high, that anyone who comes close, is a genuis, and if he only meets or falls just a little below the magic that he has in the past created, he is "all washed up" etc.

You came to bad conclusion.

TRC is 100x better than The Love Below. Never ever Andre 3000 will reach this level musically.

And I'm a big Outkast fan. I think they are the most taleneted black band out there.

cool

I love Speakerboxx...I agree that, as a whole, it's better, but the
best song, HEY YA!, is on TLB...and I love the mellowness of Take Off
Your Cool.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I doubt that Prince would write a song that had lyrics "I know you think your shit don't stank but roses smell like poo poo''
