The Word is the best song.
It's listener friendly, full of meaning, he clearly puts his heart into it, thought about it, and wants us to hear every word, and it expresses where P's head is (where it has been since "Dearly beloved..." Purple Rain, Uptown, The Cross, One of Us, 1999, Come, Christopher Tracy's Parade): trying to get us to move closer to God. The religous stuff ain't new, why are people trippin' like he was just born again with the JW's? 3121 is a close second. The other songs were too easy for him, to call them great. | |

i'm not a member of that specific sect of christianity, but the song is amazing just the same. i mean, i'm not a kabbalist but i love some of madonna's kabbalah centered stuff and i'm not a pagan but i love a lot of tori amos' stuff regarding gods and goddesses.
its the inspiration i'm attracted to. oh, and the great, smooth groove it gives! | |

I don't believe in any God, to answer the question about JWs. I just love the mellowness of Prince's voice along with the acoustic guitar and the general melody.
