'Baby' is one of my all time fav. Prince tracks, but the whole LP is one of my fav's too.

Aside from the shmaltz of with you and still waiting, its is a killer album. Production and mix-wise it sounds very contemporary. It sounds better than 3121 which so far sounds a bit tinny and screetchy to me on headphones.

The two pre-1980 albums are still amazingly interesting listens all these years later.

You guys really dig that album that much? I don't know maybe I should give it another listen but I didn't think it was so hot.

that whole album is teh hottness...but it needs remastered badly! every time i put the cd on i gotta turn up the volume more than i usually do because the sound's so low throughout the whole album.

every time thatcha keep it away, it only makes me want it more...

From the first single on the album "For You", anyone could tell this is was going to be a masterpiece. No instruments just his voice.

I converted a hater two days ago by playing this song for them and they had to admit that this man is a genius.

Agreed, y 'all may remember I did a love thread for this album. You have 2 remember this is the shit that got Prince signed. In Love and Soft and wet are late 70s perfection. The only other song that approached the For you album was Jack and Jill by Raydio (1977). Look at the balletic opening to baby, the accessible disco funk of just as long as were 2gether and the instant catchiness of my Love is 4 eva and I'm Yours. I will never abandon 4 U
