God, this could be a huge list, and get me a kicking...

"Adore" - I've said it before, but this doesn't do a single thing for me. Never liked it one little bit.

"ICPC" - Too disjointed, too tuneless, has no redeeming features whatsoever.

Most of the "1999" album - Too long, too repetitive.

Big chunks of the "D&P" album - Thinking particularly of "Money Don't Matter" (sounds like it was sung through a phone) and "Strollin'" (bloody awful!)

Most of the "Symbol" album - Tony M overload, but maybe I'm against this because it reminds me of the time around its release, rather than the album itself.

The "Come" album - My jaw dropped when I heard it, but for all the wrong reasons. Earlier versions of the title track were excellent, but the released version was atrocious.

All of "Emancipation", bar "Slave" and "The Holy River" - A truly terrible album for which I've yet to forgive him.

Think that's enough for now!

As a counterpoint to the earlier thread - List Prince songs that are popular with society or the org that you cannot stand. My choices are:

The Most Beautiful Girl In the World - Along with the video, the title should replace "Beautiful" with "Cheesy"

The Greatest Romance Ever Sold - nice melodies but too over the top

Dolphin - Was this a post- Thriller MJ throwaway?

Diamonds and Pearls - Bad Pop lyrics 101

Gold - Purple Rain Lite

Purple Rain - Just Kidding!! But I am getting a litte tired of this classic

Yup, you got these songs right with the exclusion of Purple Rain, course.

"Another Lonely Christmas"...I simply do not like this song...and always catch grief for it...Believe me, I've tried to like it but it just won't happen...I think I would rather hear a 24 hour repeat of Jughead while combing Larry Grahams mustache than ever play "ALC" again... boxed

That's the funniest sh@t I have read today. Thanks, the imagery will stay in my mind for hours but there are still better visuals than Graffiti Bridge.

When Prince enters into schmaltz and cheese it's scary. Who told P he could do Neil Diamond. He's got too much funk and edge in his bones.

If I'm limited to 3 songs:

Automatic (not really bad, just 6 minutes too long)

I Would Die 4 U (How to make a song out of two notes...)

Housequake!!! (By far the worst song on SOTT imo! It should have been called "Fillerquake" or "Crapquake" or something like that!)

I Would Die 4 U- never ever liked it. too drab

all of Emancipation- i know he was all happy about Mayte and stuff, but it was so...cheesey to me.

1999 i like, but it's really dragged out at parts, and it just makes me wanna skip most of it to certain parts of songs.

Positivity-i never could get into it

ICPC- fucking awful

Anna Stesia--I like it, but those lyrics at the end are incredibly immature and corny. "Girls and boys love God above"? That's rough.

Anotherloverholeinyourhead--Another song that I like but think is overrated. There's nothing particularly special about it.

Play in the Sunshine--Self-conscious, generic Prince pop that's overshadowed by much better songs conveying the same theme.

It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night--Boring, annoying, overly long song that completely disrupts the flow of the second SOTT CD.

The Holy River--Pretentious, sanctimonious, contrived crap.

In This Bed Eye Scream--Average song with no interesting hook to speak of.

Last December--More JW dogma, and a chorus that feels out of place.

La, La, La, Hee, Hee, Hee--Simply annoying barking sounds. Unpleasant song.

How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore?--The piano notes are piercing and grating.
The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Rhastus

Adore easily, its a nice song, but its not the greatest song he ever did like lots of people claim it to be.

The same could be said for the album Lovesexy. I love anna stesia to death, but aside from that the album is probably the worst thing he did in the 80's.

"She's Always In My Hair"

It's a fine track, but in the collection of 80s bsides, not one of my faves. I strangely MUCH prefer "Hello"

I'm soooo with you on that.
I never cared for it, but "hello" has always been one of my favorites. I like the simple synth arrangement in "hello"--uber cool.

I dont hate these but I dont rate them anywhere near as highly as lots do

Lovesexy ...weakest title track everrrrr
When I lay my hands on U...Prince making juddery noises with a guitar in place of a decent chorus, not that great
I wonder U...dissing something from Parade , surely not , bit of a plod this song
Free...be glad that you are , I'm more glad when the songs over actually
A million days ...snoozefest , never really hooked me
